Double FIne proves yet again that they're where creativity lives.
An amazing journey worth undertaking just so you can be in awe every step of it.

What a hauntingly beautiful game this is. I was drawn to it at first only due to its art style but at the end found a lot more to be in awe of.
The music or let's say sound design is something out of this world, as music reacts and plays out as you play the game, telling the story or adding little hints.
Each chapter story is equally engaging and tragic but the message is clear.
Love.
This game is clearly a labor of love, and each chapter tells what love is, what love does and to what lengths are we willing to go for people we love.
Gameplay is decent, nothing revolutionary here but platforming is quick, reactive and fun. Combat leaves something to be desired but it has a purpose and once you master it, it can’t be considered a chore
But the game isn’t about that. This is a narrative experience, full of interesting characters and stories that will move you. There was more than one moment that brought a tear to my eye.
Compulsion games made more than a game here and I’ll cherish it forever.

It follows premise with a twist, CROWDED. FOLLOWED. approach to unstoppable stalker akin to Mr. X or Nemesis from RE games with a breath of fresh air. As an asthmatic myself I was left breathless when I saw asthma inhaler used to recover stamina.
I really need to buy one.

Everyone can agree that Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings trilogy is a masterpiece. It's high fantasy full of memorable characters, epic scenes and great storytelling.

This is Peter Jackson's The Hobbit.

One of the worst, if not the worst community out there. Almost as horrible as matchmaking.
Those two things ruin something that could be a fun game.

Narrator: You're in a review section of Slay the Princess. You're here to write a review. If you don't, it's going to be the end of the world.
(Explore) Isn't that a bit overstating it? I really doubt the world will end if I don't write a review.
Narrator: I didn't want to say it but I had to. You had the right to know about the gravity of our situation.
(Explore) Then I best get to it.
Proceed to write a review.

Narrator: You start typing, the clacking of the keyboard almost deafening. There is so much to write.
Voice of the Hero: There are not enough words to describe what this game is.
Narrator: Who's the one overstating now?
Voice of the Contrarian: Why are you still here?
Narrator: To make sure you do what you've been tasked to. Write a review and save the world.
Voice of the Smitten: Of course he wouldn't understand. The labor of love that is Slay the Princess is beyond your meager understanding.
Narrator: Enlighten me then.
Voice of the Skeptic: You wouldn't get it.
Voice of the Hero: Slay the Princess is a non-linear visual novel that deals with a...
Voice of the Smitten: It's a love story!
Voice of the Paranoid: It's a horror story.
Voice of the Hero: It's an unique experience, worthy of your time. Worthy of seeing it through, discovering fresh perspectives and new beginnings.
Voice of the Hero: It will keep you intrigued, dumbfounded and stay with you long after you've finished it.
Voice of the Smitten: You'll end up smitten!
Voice of the Broken: Or broken. Nothing will feel as it used to.
Voice of the Hero: He's not wrong. Did I mention it's beautifully voice acted?
Narrator: Why, thank you.
Voice of the Hero: Jonathan Sims and Nichole Goodnight carry so much in terms of setting up the mood and the atmosphere and the way the play of each other is impeccable.
Voice of the Smitten: They're the best.
Voice of the Hero: You owe it to yourself to experience this game. Because it's not only a game.
Everyone: It's a love story!

A game that is often considered sex/porn one but it's more aligned with a cosmic horror tale. An immersive journey through the mysteries and deep lore behind Lusst'ghaaa (I know, the name isn't the best but it after a while, you grow to like it) with a sex scene or two sprinkled throughout.
If you're a fan of cosmic horror and enjoy a good visual and solid storytelling, do give this a try. It really iis a good game.
P.S. There are two prologues that are free to play and I suggest you play them before Lust from Beyond since they do enhance the experience and give more meaning to certain characters and their actions.

As someone who loves Warhammer lore and enjoyed Vermintide, I've always hoped to see a co-op game of that kind in Warhammer 40k universe.
And lo and behold, Fatshark came to deliver.
This game is everything you love about Vermintide but within Warhammer 40k. If you thought Ubersreik Five (or four, doesn't matter) had it dark, wait til you're a Reject destined only to expire serving the Throne.
As of writing this review, game is currently in its Preorder Beta and there are kinks that need adressing but I'm sure Fatshark are doing their best.
I can only hope this game will provide countless hours of fun, just as its fantasy predecessor did
