I do feel like the trifecta has opened up the opportunity to a lot of creators to get steadier footing in blender alone, but nobody quite out there putting out guides and resources on how to make stuff using the modern tools and assets available
Regardless, thank you for the help, I do think I might be better off just getting more comfortable with making cosmetics first regardless

the closest taunt related guide i could find on steam was about making a backpack icon. hope it helps in any case

I would perhaps suggest including the tf2 trifecta with perhaps an emphasis on utilizing it and skipping the model importing process all together
Additionally, a creator named Sch0lim has created this guide which has a much more fun up-beat tone and may me easier to follow for those more wanting to stick to the more modern iterations of blender, so perhaps consider including this video.

(I do love this guide, but at manya points Sch0lim does use shortcuts and does make it a little harder to follow, but I do think the up beat tone helps keep the flow state fun and engaging)
Best regards
