i have played dark souls prepare to die edition for about 500 hours now. i have completed the game once but created many pvp builds i personally dont like the last 80% or so of the game. one of the worst aprts ( i find) is that you ahve to create a windows live account. this can be tedious and time consuming but worth it once you get into dark souls. The presentation can be hard to understand and there isnt really a tutorial. youll largly have to find out the mechanics your self or look them up online. dark souls can be a fairly ahrd game to egt into becuase of its difficulty. The story also isnt very apprarent at first but is sprinkled throughout NPC diolaugue and item descriptions. This game is difficult becuase even basic enemys can do high damage and this game punishes you for every mistake. well timed attacks blocks and parrys. You must learn the attack patterns of enemys and bosses and how to evade them. Once you have this down the game becomes much easier but even very experienced players can die soemtimes because of a single slip up. If you are not one that persists when something is difficult in a game i would not reccomend this game. persistance is key. death is progress. you msut die over and over to learn attack patterns and how to beat areas and bosses. great atmosphere although framerate can dip drastically ina n area called blighttown and it is locked from the start at 30. you can unlock it by downloading mods. also it can be very hard to succesfully summon your friends into your game. it may even take as much as an hour. This game has ruined other games for me simply becuase they arent dark souls. This game is so unique and is a gem of a game. it ahs so many secrets and shortcuts to explore. You may even miss entire areas or bosses of the game becuase many are actually optional. this game also thrives on shared knowledge. althoguh for your first playthrough i wouldnt reccomend choosing the master key as your starting gift because it opens up certain areas of the game right from the start so you dont get to experience them which would be a shame. also only look up guides when you are well and truly stuck becuase the feeling of finding something out yourself is truly euphoric. This game is one of mystery and wonder , it is very unique and even though i have almost 500 hours in this game i still havent experienced everything. this game has much replayability and you will be palyign it for very long. i presonally also like this game more than dark souls 2. in this reveiw i havent delved into multiplayer ebcuase that is a whole other can of worms but is also extremely fun (and frustrating). I would reccomend this game to anyone that has a strong will to persist ( and large temper) and loves games that are a challenge. this game is a nice break from the easy AAA titles of today. this concludes my review and sorry for any spellign errors.
