One of those rare games where you wish it was longer. Really enjoyed the nostalgia for the 90s and early 00s. Good puzzles, nothing too hard. Definitely would recommend.

Story heavy, little bit of a walk (or swim) sim but some interesting puzzle elements. I really enjoyed it, and am looking forward to more from the developers.

I have started many farcry games, but this had a storyline so compelling for me that I finished it, and then went looking for fanfiction to keep the story going. Never done that before! Otherwise, here are some pros and cons:

Pros:

Music - a mix of atmospheric music for the main game, plus a set of songs each with three versions for whichever third of the Hope county you're currently in. Found the gospel choir ones very catchy!

Sidekicks - You can get up to two (which they decided not to do in New Dawn, boo) and I mostly stayed with the animal ones. Sometimes needed a little help but for the most part kept me from getting into too much trouble so I could feel kickass.

Story - very heavy on the "tortured hero" theme, which I enjoyed

Graphics - pretty good, but we do expect it to be so. Encountered little in the way of glitches, but then I'm there to enjoy myself, not pick at the seams.

Cons:

Story - wish there was more of it. Each sub boss gave snippets of former lives, but they could have done so much more to make them more real. It would have been so hard, given the politics of the age we live in now.

Morals - this is a bit of a weird one, but I didn't like the way the game pushed the idea that those who were "drugged to practically vegetable state on legs" were subhuman and that killing them was fun. I know that they're more or less being the same mechanic that zombies do, but it's a more closer version to real life issues, and the game seemed to be stuck between wanting to make the player go through difficult ethical decisions, and being another shoot em up, so having just rescued someone who was so close to becoming one of them to then be presented with a mission to just go nuts killing hordes of them just cause was strange.

Aaaaand that's it. Thanks for reading.

Absolutely beautiful game. The developers have paid much attention to the details, each stage is as intricate as the last, so you don't get that "coming to the end" feeling. The hints are well set up too and don't give the answer easily, so the satisfaction of completing the game is still there. A true puzzle game.

In short: get it. Now.
