Good game, the gameplay loop and ideas are there, the biggest downfall right now is that the run feels too short with only 2 starsectors.

This game became mildly entertaining too quickly, Exploring huge monotonous areas with the same enemies and tons of uninteresting loot is a chore. Maybe a good game for chilling out but not exciting.

It was already fun enough for me to spend the whole weekend playing this game and it will only improve.

Intense gameplay at higher difficulties, similar to Vermintide 2 but with more ranged combat and ranged game mechanics. I had a lot of fun making my build as overpowered as possible just to find out you really need OP builds + teamwork in Auric Maelstrom missions, which are the most difficult missions in the game right now. Our team died many times in these missions but the struggle before that was still fun. Makes finishing the mission more rewarding.

This game is for you if you like:
-fast paced hack and slash, cutting through seemingly endless waves of ratmen, followers of chaos and monsters

-many careers witch different playstyles for you to pick, learn and optimize

-to challenge yourself. If you die, it is 99% your fault and you can do something better to avoid dying (and often that means to work with your team. Sounds like a contradiction, but it isn't). Winning every game can become boring. Fortunately there is always a higher difficulty (although you need the WInds of Magic DLC to unlock the last 3 difficulties but those are so difficult that they are only for the most hardcore players).

-teamwork. If you don't work with your team, you will die. Hypothetically if you played perfectly you don't need them but they will save you when you make a mistake. Sometimes the only thing you need to win is to stay alive and let your team take care of the situation.

-the sense of victory against all odds

One of the best space sandbox game out there, but it has still a long way to go before it is finished.
Space Engineers has the best 3D space ship customazitation so far, because you simply build every bit of it (along with KSP, but these games are very different). It's very open to the community, the source code is being shared via github and as a result the workshop is full of features like new blocks, utility scripts and other creations. Yes, it is still under development with bugs and it is one long hype train thanks to the enthusiastic dev team that walks paths nobody walked before them.
