Early Access Review
I love TE4, and TE2013 before that. That said, TE isn't for everyone. It's a very solid, fun, and relaxing game.

So, to get it out of the way, we all can see that part of Stellar Blade is Dress Up Korean Barbie. Sure, fine, but the game has to be good or Dress Up Korean Barbie wouldn't sell. The combat is crisp and snappy. I'd say it's like a better version of Jedi Survivor or The Surge 2.

Is the story that deep? No, not really. It doesn't need to be, though. Games need to play well first and foremost.

What I really want to talk about is the optimization. So many modern games run terribly, yet this port is super smooth and crisp. Imagine trying to time your dodges, parries, and counters with stuttering.

I haven't finished my first playthrough, but I expect to come back at some point and update my review once I've finished the game and tried out NG+.

Honestly, the game is tons of fun. Is it perfect? No, but what game is? There's so much land to cover, things to explore and do. Hidden Blade combat is finally back, which is wonderful.

I think that we should've been able to scale the hills and mountains much more easily; however, Shadows is intent on having you follow the main roads and the GPS path. Everything is on the main road, including keys and the like.

So, that was my original review. After months more of playing on and off, everything, while I still recommend the game, it's not without its flaws. The story was never as great as we hoped for, a lot of the added content over time was lacking or straight up poorly implemented, and it wasn't great. There were collab/crossover events and they gave us a banner to put up in the Hideout. That wasn't what anyone asked for.

The game wants you to play NG+, but I have no inclination to do so. The only thing keeping a lot of people going is logging in to do some weeklies.

The game is absolutely everything I wanted out of basically Skyrim in Space. The decisions, the expansiveness, everything.

Now, that said, can Bethesda make Sarah not complain whenever I pick a lock in her presence? One time I had to make her wait outside while I went in and did some thievery.

You can see by my hours on record that I've played a ton of Warframe. Not as many as quite a lot, but a significant, significant amount. Warframe's had a lot of ups and downs. Right now, they have a roadmap, as they call it, and it's just a great idea. Unfinished features are being pushed out, and it's not what we want.

I still like/love Warframe, don't get me wrong, but the current development cycle is more than underwhelming.

I came back this week to see how the changes that were instituted were.

The changes, such as being able to level up old gear, meaning you didn't need to luckily come upon the stats you wanted, plus at the right level, make equipment gathering much, much simpler. I'm not sure that it's going to matter all that much, but it did let me level up my favorite armor, meaning that I wasn't forced to take less hp to use my favorite armor any longer.

I've never played another tennis game that forced me to adapt and become better at the game. That alone makes this a worthy game to play.

Looking back after all of this time, DXHR is really quite excellent. Yes, there are complaints, such as run issues, but, overall, it is pretty well polished. If only DXMD could've taken the elements that made DXHR great and stuck with them, instead of merely fixing run issues and a few other HUD issues. If you're going to play either of the relatively recent DX games, I'd recommend DXHR over DXMD.

My most treasured aspect of DXHR was Jensen's interactions with the characters around him.

I've enjoyed this port, but, as so many other posters have said, without Durante, this would've been a very problematic port.

The graphics hold up significantly better than games made significantly more recently than FFXIII, so that's certainly a positive. The characters' stories are better than are advertised overall. The linearity is only an issue if you've become used to open world games. If this is your the first FF game you've played, a lot of the complaints by FF series veterans won't really apply.
