THIS GAME IS FANTASTIC!!!

I'm a long time fnaf fan and this is the best way to play fnaf multiplayer.

I have seen concerns about it being buggy but I had NO bugs in my playthrough with my buddy. We called it quits at level 13.

The only issue I have with the game is that I think Sugar needs to be nerfed just a little. Maybe if you had a little longer to react it would be better!

DOOM 2016 was an amazing game, but it was too easy. Even when I was playing on ultra violence, I still only died three to five times. Also, the gameplay felt repetitive. I love the action but after seeing the same mars base UAC textures, and fighting the same enemies I had been fighting for so many hours it just got old. Don’t get me wrong, I still loved the game to bits and believe that it’s the one of the best movement based shooters ever released, but DOOM Eternal is so much better.
all of the issues I had with 2016 were nowhere to be found and I fell in love with the new features. At first I struggled to get into the ebb and flow of DOOM Eternal, and I had to pause the game and tell myself “Lucas, stop playing this like DOOM 2016”. Immediately I noticed a change. The combat became much much faster, and more fluid, and I realized that the skill ceiling for this game was so much higher than that of 2016, But most of all, I didn’t feel overpowered. The way the devs balanced this game is genius. Instead of just giving all of the enemies a flat health and damage buff, they revamped their move sets, and you, the slayer, have much less ammo to burn. The chainsaw isn’t just a catalyst for cool kills anymore, it is now a tool that has to be utilized at the perfect moments during combat to refill your ammunition. This addition to the game makes it less of the mindless, “run around and shoot stuff”, and more of a, “do I have enough ammo to kill that Arachnatron right this second?”. Since combat never gives you a break you are always thinking about when to shoot, when to use abilities, and when to, of course, chainsaw to refill your ammunition.
The levels are all unique in this game, and I don’t think I ever found a reused texture besides enemies. The devs did a great job making every location feel alien and hostile. The environments also did a great job of getting me into my next point, the lore. Going into DOOM Eternal, I didn’t think I needed or even wanted any lore about the Doom Guy, or his enemies. But whenever I entered an environment that had massive statues of “doom slayer like” crusaders, and explored massive castles with Doom Slayer imagery on them, I couldn’t help but wonder, “Where is Doom Guy in all of this?” Though I was intrigued by the story, and the game obviously wanted me to know more, it didn’t shove the plot points down my throat through long and complicated cutscenes. Instead, I got little snippets of lore here and there. It reminded me a lot of the Dark Souls method of storytelling, in the way that I had to piece together some of the story myself.
While this game is amazing, it's not perfect. Due to a heavier reliance on lore, and hyping up late game bosses, the game doesn’t stand for much replayability. Also speaking of hyped up endgame bosses, I was really disappointed by the fight with the Kahn Makyr. I won’t get into too much detail due to spoilers, but it just felt anti-climatic, and I never thought about it again until I started writing this review. Besides that, this game is exceptional. I give this game a solid 9.5/10.
