Before playing it, I thought it looked stupid, and I'd never want to play it. Then I tried it following a friend's recommendation.. and it's a lot of fun. I love adventure and caves, so I'm getting plenty of that. Highly recommended, especially for the price.

Early Access Review
It's one of those games that feels great to play - it has a unique style to it. Best enjoyed with friends!

I've played more DST than ROG or Shipwrecked, and there's a good reason. DST is a richer experience, IF you're playing with a friend or friends. Playing on public servers is a gamble. You'll get good games, and horrible games. Lots of a-holes out there :p But if you can find yourself a friend to play with, there's no end to how much fun you can have. DST is my all-time favorite game, and it runs quite well (surprisingly) on my non-gaming laptop (Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon). That said, I cannot host games, you need a better computer for that.

I prefer Shipwrecked over ROG, but ROG is fun too. For the past year I've played more DST with a friend, and now trying PVP with him and random people joining our server. This game is a constant challenge, you really have to prep for the upcoming season if you want to avoid struggling. It gives you a real feeling of survival against overwhelming odds (the elements, and the bosses). This game and DST are my all-time favorite games. Very challenging, and very rewarding.

Addictive. And surprisingly I can play it on my Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon. It's not ideal, as it gets somewhat chunky even on low settings, but it's playable. My best advice I think with the game is to think more before you build. I'm still struggling with that, but the more I plan ahead of time, the better my city turns out. It's tempting to just rush and build as quickly as you can. So far I bought Mass Transit and Industries, and I'm loving both. They both add interesting components to the vanilla game.
