TL;DR

I like strategy games and tactical shooters much more than everything else. I don't tend to enjoy single player games

About me and my gaming experience

I've started to play computer games in 1999, when I was a kid. In those days, I mainly played city-builders like Tropico, Caesar III, Pharaoh, Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom, etc. When I got network access, I started to play more different games, mostly strategy or action games (Age of Empires II, Civilization III, StarCraft, Command & Conquer series, Unreal Tournament, Quake, etc.)

In 2005, I finished High school and stopped play entirely and didn't play computer games for almost 10 years because I didn't have any free time (military service, university studying, career, personal life, and so on). Now I'm trying to make up for this lost. I enjoy figuring games out, acquiring an in-depth understanding of game mechanics, and a min/max style of gameplay. Let me describe my game preferences in a bit more detail:

- I prefer challenge to repetitive grind;
- I prefer playing against and with other humans to AI;
- I prefer extreme replayability and balance to storyline;
- I prefer games that have a depth of a game mechanics that allow for multiple different experiences;
- I prefer realistic settings to any fantasy settings;
- I prefer PC friendly games. Console and mobile-like games really put me off;
- I prefer games that have a cult following to games that are extremely popular. I've found that games with a small but devoted fan base are much more to my liking than mainstream games.
