Not Worth 40€ – Disappointing in Every Way

I was excited for Little Nightmares III — finally a co-op entry in one of my favorite series. Unfortunately, that’s about the only thing this game gets right. Everything else feels like a massive step down.

The story is basically non-existent and nothing about the environments or enemies is ever explained. The eerie mystery and worldbuilding that made the first two games special? Gone.

It’s also incredibly buggy. Characters constantly got stuck, items disappeared, and we had to reset from checkpoints or even kill ourselves multiple times just to continue. It honestly felt unfinished.

The puzzles are laughably basic — nothing memorable or challenging at all. Most of the time you’re just dragging objects from A to B, flipping switches, or breaking strings. There’s no creativity here. And when you’re not doing that, you’re just walking. A lot.

Worst of all, this thing costs 40€ and we finished the game in about 4 hours. For that price, it’s shockingly short and shallow.

As a longtime fan of the series, it genuinely hurts to say this, but the new devs really missed what made Little Nightmares special. This feels like a cheap imitation with a big price tag.

Its actually impressive how much worse this series gets year after year.

Finished in under 10 hours, and it somehow managed to feel repetitive the whole time. Every mission plays out exactly the same: start in stealth, get spotted no matter what, shootout, knife fight with the boss. Rinse and repeat until you can’t care anymore.

Story? It’s basically Mafia 1 in 1905 Sicily. Protagonist joins the family, falls for the boss’s daughter, wants to run away, boss wants him dead, betrayal from a partner, and a predictable “you die anyway” ending. Zero surprises, no fresh ideas.

Cutscenes are full of bugs

€50 for 10 hours of recycled content and broken presentation? Hard pass. This isn’t the return to form Mafia fans were waiting for — it’s a lazy reskin with less soul than any previous entry.
