Man I used to love vail, I remember spending every waking moment I had to spare grinding in quick play lobbies to complete against GigaKnight for the #1 spot on the all time leaderboards. How I would 5 stack with my friends and we would destroy every enemy that we came across and how we destroyed the enemy so hard the developers had to add multiple rules spesifically to stop us from destroying people so hard they would never return to the game again. I remember making agreements with my brother that he would play while I was at the dentists'. I remember signing up for literally every scrim and cancelling my weekend plans to play in a scrim. I remember playing VRML MM every day instead of watching a series with my family.

I used to love VAIL. However that has changed.
AEXLAB has changed. Instead of making a small but quality game, they have shifted to rushing out poorly made updates after updates. Every time there's news of a new update me and my friends worry about which new bug will screw us up next.
- Audio completely breaking (this has been a thing since 1.0, so over half a year now!)
- Scanner getting stuck in the ground unable to be picked up
- Scanner dropping every time you pick it up
- Nobody being able to join after a game started (including someone who was there if they crashed)
And many more I cannot remember/share because they are so common.

And one of the biggest of them all:
The performance keeps getting worse every update. I used to be able to run VAIL without any performance issues, however now it is at a point where I can't play anymore without getting pissed at the awful performance.
(note: ive been told by some that by GPU is slightly below recommended. This may be true and there's little I can do about it, but perf worked fine before)

Edit: AEXLAB released a new update the same day my review was posted
A few bugs from the update to give you a taste:
- Textures are all screwed up
- Thermites can become invisible making invisible death fields
- Game crashing whenever you join a match
- Game crashing whenever you start the game
- Textures being all messed up
- VAIL breaking all the audio on your system (this was hotpatched with making all audio proximity chat, which was then fixed in the next update). Audio is still not fixed in the latest hotpatch btw
- Headshots doing 0 damage
- Massive desync (getting shot from a player that died 5s ago). This was not anywhere close to this bad in the previous releases.

This is not how VAIL should be. VAIL has massive potential to be a great game, but as of now it is limited by being unpolished.

Edit: Since posting the game has gotten worse and aexlab employees has contacted me to request that I don't post negative reviews.
