1) Navigate to your cfg folder, (StorageDrive>Program Files (x86)>Steam>steamapps>common>Counter-Strike Source>cstrike>cfg), and create a text document.

2) Title the txt document listenserver.cfg.



3) Insert these commands to the document.

cl_cmdrate 100
cl_updaterate 100
sv_maxupdaterate 100
sv_minupdaterate 100
sv_maxcmdrate 100
sv_mincmdrate 100
sv_maxrate 30000
sv_minrate 25000
fps_max 900
sv_unlag 1
sv_maxunlag .5

4) Then hit ctrl + S to save the document, and exit.

(Scroll to the very bottom of the guide to shortcut the 100/200 tick server, the rest of the guide is only useful if you don't have internet connection or want to host a dedicated 100/200tick server, not a localhost server.)

1) Get the latest release for your OS at: https://github.com/angelfor3v3r/source-tickrate/releases

(Ex. css-tickrate-release-OS-x86_64.zip if you're using cstrike_64.exe)

2) Extract the archive to your game folder (StorageDrive>Program Files (x86)>Steam>steamapps>common>Counter-Strike Source>cstrike)

1) Add -tickrate <number> & -insecure to your launch options

head over to your steam library menu and right click on Counter-Strike: Source and head to properties.





Here, you can see the LAUNCH OPTIONS where we will be putting the options -tickrate 100 &
-insecure. PREFERABLY, you should set the -tickrate to what you set the listenserver cfg to.

It should look like this.



DISLAIMER: you can't join any servers from the server browser when you put -insecure as a launch option, so make sure to erase it when you want to play online. This is the only downside. :p

Now, once you create a server, it should be a crisp 100 tick. You can make sure it's 100 tick by typing net_graph 1 into console, while in the server, and looking for the 100.0/son the right.



Finally, you should have a 100 tick private/local host server to mess around in. To make the server 200 tick, just change all the 100's in the guide to 200. Enjoy.

TIP: YOU CAN ALSO JOIN A RANDOM 100 TICK SERVER FROM THE SERVER BROWSER, DISCONNECT, AND THEN CREATE A SERVER. THIS WOULD ALSO CREATE A LOCALHOST 100/200TICK SERVER ;p
