Create a Blueprint
Play the game in any gamemode that has building such as Creative or Sandbox.

Start with an empty construction plan.

If you have a construction plan in progress either Begin Construction or Cancel it.

Begin placing build pieces, for example build a house.

When done click the Create Blueprint button in the Build Plan panel.

  • Position the thumbnail image
  • Add a name and description
  • Choose a background
  • Update details
  • Save the Blueprint

The blueprint is now saved locally in your savegame folder.
You can also now use this blueprint in game.
Upload Blueprint to the Workshop
From the game main menu (restart the game if you have to) click the Steam Workshop button.

This opens a new window which lists all local blueprints you created that have not been uploaded to the Steam Workshop.

Click the Upload button on each blueprint you wish to share.

When uploaded, the local blueprint is no longer available and you must subscribe to the item on the Workshop.
Subscribe to Blueprints
Visit the Steam workshop either through the Steam Client or a web browser - https://steamcommunity.com/app/1434840/workshop/

Blueprints you've uploaded may take a while to show up on the Recent tab. It could take minutes or hours or more.

You can always access blueprints you uploaded under Your Workshop Files->Files You've Posted

Subscribe to workshop items. These will be available when you start a new game.
Use Workshop Blueprints In Game
All local blueprints you've created and all blueprints you subscribed to from the Workshop are available in all games that you start new or load from a save.

Once the game has started or is loaded from a save, open the Build Panel (default B) and filter the build pieces by Blueprints then All.

You can now place blueprints as regular building pieces, load them on your hotbar etc.
Help
I don't see my uploaded blueprint on the workshop.
It can take minutes, hours or more for recent uploads to show up. But you can always find your uploaded items under your profile.

I don't see my subscribed items in game
Try restarting the game. Workshop items are only loaded when starting a new game or loading a savegame.

I have other problems
You may need to accept the Steam Workshop Legal Agreement. This can be found under your profile.
