The blade of the knife is painted with metallic paints and adorned with a pattern of translucent wavy lines resembling smoke. The color scheme of the skin includes various shades of green creating gradient transitions. The design of the skin resembles the texture of the emerald. The handle remains unpainted.

The pattern index affects the ratio of colors as well as the location of black, green and teal areas. Special or rare variations of the pattern are called Max Emerald. There are not many patterns for the M9 Bayonet, since the blade is large and there are almost always dark spots on the blade.

Rank 1 Emerald knives do not have dark lines on the blade. (Also in the Rank 1 category, the patterns are in descending order) The best pattern Rank 1 - 609 and 965. Rank 2 Emerald has the minimum number of dark lines. Rank 3 has dark lines or spots on the blade, but the blade also remains Max Emerald.

Float Value of the skin ranges from 0.00 to 0.08, which makes M9 Bayonet | Gamma Doppler Emerald available only in Factory New and Minimal Wear condition. At levels of wear close to the maximum, the knife has noticeable scratches and abrasions located on the spine and around the hole. Little abrasions are also present on other edges of the blade.
