crazy how in the medical field they just straight up taught/teach that black people experience less pain/don't experience any, especially black women.

crazy how pregnant black women are more likely to die from childbirth/medical neglect in America than anyone else

crazy that black children will straight up not be diagnosed, especially with autism because of medical racism(instead being diagnosed with odd which is basically unruly child disorder)

crazy that the whole medical system in America is built on the torture and experimentation of enslaved black people, ESPECIALLY black women.

black people have a higher chance of facing medical neglect than the average white person. we get our concerns dismissed, looked over, or rejected because once again, the medical system is just, racist!

I've only faced minor medical racism, that being diagnosed with ODD, and being excused by white doctors, and having to tidy up my appearance to not experience racism. luckily I live in a black populated area so I have a higher chance of working with black nurses and doctors, but some black folk aren't as lucky...

my last addition to this thread is that: black people are mentally ill and neurodivergent just like white people are, but face more medical racism and ignorance, we're less likely to find the proper diagnosis for our issues, along with physical issues too.

it took me YEARS to get my proper diagnosis, especially with autism.

1) people keep naming Moonlight as one of the only media examples of Black gay love, and it's like... Have y'all seen the movie or are you just parroting others, and

2) that gets quoted, followed by IWTV, neither of which I gather are even remotely the same tone as Heated Rivalry. Moonlight is about Black boyhood and masculinity and queer identity, and (AMC's) IWTV is a Gothic story about antiblackness, abuse, trauma and mental illness 😅

To be fair, it's still on my to-pirate list as well, but if we wanted to make a more similar comparison we could have at least said P Valley where there's a lead Black gay and nonbinary couple AND a lead Black lesbian couple in the entertainment industry and they hunch with plot too.
