There is something so quietly devastating about becoming older than your favorite childhood characters. To go from growing up with them to growing out of them. To go from understanding their dreams and struggles and lives to looking back on those moments from after. To go from looking up to them as a symbol of who you could become to gazing back at a reminder of who you once were. They were the ideal, they were what you wanted to be, they embodied that passion and that drive you always wanted. Now you’re older and maybe you found it or maybe you’re still looking for it, but it doesn’t matter because you are never going to be that kid waiting for their letter from Hogwarts or their godly parent to claim them or to find a soulmate in a sport or be whisked off to a magic guild or learn to play the guitar with a lover or any of these things you thought you would get to experience because life isn’t a story but at least you got to believe that it was. And now you don’t. Even if a part of you will always come back to them and yearn to believe that in time, you can do it to.
Back on my TSC should be an animated series nonsense- I’ve recently been watching Castlevania and I KNOWWW Isabelle would be thugging out her whip like this

It would do so much better as an animation. It would allow for an accurate portrayal of not only the characters appearance but also the plot. There is just so much more you can do with animation that isn’t feasible in a live action production.
