Today's album was Ghost in the Clocks by Anoice. I enjoyed it! This was another album that was recommended to me by a friend and I did enjoy it a lot. Not necessarily something I would have sought out myself purely by genre, I think, but I definitely had fun with it.
Anoice is presumably self described as a "Cinematic Instrumental" band and that most definitely came through, it was a very stunning album that did a very good job of painting its atmosphere. Cold, bit rainy, maybe the kind of rain that's just bordering on being snow. Swelled and lulled beautifully.
Favorite track was definitely rebirth, as if it would shock anyone. That track was a five star track for sure. It struck me in the middle of it that it reminded me somewhat of Godspeed You! Black Emperor, specifically it sounded reminiscent of Yanqui U.X.O. While that played a part, I didn't love it JUST for that, I loved its own beautiful identity and it was an excellent introduction as someone who'd never listened to Anoice before.
