Thinking about Vickie and how amazing of a character she was. Robin was so shy and nervous around her when she thought she had no chance but when they got together Robin was so naturally confident and open with her affection. That shows Robin was supported enough that she was able yo learn and be confident in her first ever relationship and allowed to be silly and make mistakes. It made Robin confident enough in herself and her own sexuality that she was able to see the struggle in somebody else and carry some of the burden for them, help them figure out themselves.
Thinking about Vickie who when she found out her girlfriend was lying and stealing drugs she was so incredibly worried that she risked her job by pulling Robin to a side room. She listened to Robin’s crazy even though she was furious for lying and when she didn’t believe (which was fair because it sounded insane without evidence) she still kept trying to just get Robin help and was fully planning to stay by her side.
Thinking about how Vickie, who once she had the proof she needed to believe the story, instantly locked in and arguably saved the day. She was so smart with the intercom thing and ran with Robin into the danger to help save her friends.
Thinking about how empathetic and kind she was towards Max when she woke up. She was so soft and kind and reassuring exactly when Max needed it. Then after the hospital she stayed with the party and was there for making the final plan despite it being dropped on her very suddenly and stuck around to be the one in charge of taking care of Max.
I understand that Vickie was a side character but she was in the show for two whole seasons and was significantly attached to Robin and the fact she was barely mentioned in the epilogue and the breakup happened off screen makes me sad for Robin. They could have had her in the audience next to Robin watching the graduation and it would have made sense. She was one of Max’s caretakers and saw her through the whole coma and probably talked to Lucas when he was there every single day. She saw Max wake up, and then was there with her throughout the whole endgame. She would probably be so proud of Max and want to see her and Lucas graduate.
She was such sweet queer rep and I loved whenever she was on screen. But her and Robin ended up being used as a plot device that was discarded.
All of these points are why she’s my favorite character
