Hi hi since it’s not a bother uhh how do profiles work? Mobian and/or human? This has alluded me for YEARS
i go about mobians and humans differently so rather than try to explain it thru text i just recorded this lil timelapse, i hope it gives some insight ??? dsljfk
a note: with sonic-like heads specifically ive noticed they look best when the forehead is actually cut off a bit below the circle base!
as for human heads uhhhh. my process is prolly different from other ppl’s (i dont use a ton of construction lines if any) and the way i draw them depends on the character’s design so like.. hmm. idk how to help with this one 😭 i recorded a second timelapse to show a couple more heads, i’ll post it in the reblogs
stephen silver has been a Huge inspo for a long time.. i rly look up to and respect him, he was a sort of mentor for a little while! talked to him a few times
i also rly rly look up to artists like min ho kim, tracy yardley, aaron hammerstrom, thomas rothlisberger, evan stanley, and jon gray, but my friends as well!! my partners are also a huge inspiration and support ^^
I know I've said this before but I cannot stress how much your art has inspired me and has helped shape my art style. I thought it'd be good for you to know :)

uhhh hmm.. i guess ive just built up a good mental library?? ive observed a buncha poses n stuff so i have a good idea of what looks neat to me lol. otherwise i look up cool poses to use as refs. general anime poses or already-used sonic poses are super fun to use as refs
another thing that helps is to imagine the motion that goes with the pose, like for some of my sonic poses i imagine him running or sliding or whatever and i try to portray that!
