This day is feeling incredibly January, if you know what I mean. The snow in GR is absolutely nuts, and even if I made it out to the gym I am feeling the Januaryness. I know getting a workout in will be a pick me up, but damn I’m still feeling it now.
Mom and Care came to check in on me, and damn but I had no exhausted by packing up to move until I had to talk about it. It’s like all the fatigue had been packed up as well before getting poured back all over me.
I’m making lots of progress, and I’m feeling good about it over all, but man sometimes even when you’re happy and doing well the stress of it all hits you like a truck.
Welp. Took a 2 hour nap. Guess I needed to rest a bit.

Avelo Airlines, the only commercial carrier believed to have been operating full deportation flights on a regular basis for the Trump administration, is ending its relationship with Immigration and Customs Enforcement and will no longer charter those deportations.
The budget carrier signed an agreement with the Department of Homeland Security in April 2025 to operate ICE flights out of Arizona, drawing immediate protests and calls to boycott.
At the time, the airline acknowledged the decision may be controversial but said it was expected to support company expansion and job protection. However, after less than a year since inking the deal, Avelo has admitted that the program became too costly and complex to continue.
“We moved a portion of our fleet into a government program which promised more financial stability but placed us in the center of a political controversy,” Levy wrote in the email, obtained by CNBC.
“The program provided short-term benefits but ultimately did not deliver enough consistent and predictable revenue to overcome its operational complexity and costs.” (aph)

Hello my dearest - you asked for it so now I am going to ramble about Emet Selch lmao
First of all, Emet Selch is his title. His name is Hades. Just to you know. Add to why I think you’d love him.
He’s part of a society of evil wizards called Ascians that are in opposition to you, the protagonist (called the Warrior of Light), and your allies throughout the game. You meet/fight with most of his colleagues long before him so he’s already established as being on the Bad Side.
He plays up that whole schtick for most of your time around him, being very much a mustache twirling agent of chaos. But at the same time, it’s very clear that he wants you to know him. Wants you to understand his motives. He never lies to you, or obstructs his goal - namely that he trying to see his ruined world restored at the expense of yours.
So, the full quote from that essay that I love is “Emet Selch is a man bursting with love but who cannot - will not - give any of it to the present so it is left to rot within him”
And that’s the core of his character. He plays up being your opposition and being ~Evil~ but all of his actions are revealed to be out of a deep love and deeper grief for a lost world and people. He does not care that his actions are hurting/killing others because his world and his loved ones *must* be of greater importance. He cannot accept otherwise.
BUT TO ADD TO THAT!!!
It’s also revealed that you’re a reincarnation of someone he knew and loved on said ruined world. How you want to interpret “loved” is up to you (I’ve unsurprisingly gone the romantic route) but you mattered to him a great deal, he sees this other self in you and that is part of why he is desperate for you in particular to understand him. He wants the “you” he loved returned to him.
Anyway none of this changes that if his goals succeed, many people will die, so you still kinda. have to stop him but he is deeply complex and sympathetic and and and-
and man there is still *so much more* that I could say about him like that he built an enchanted castle city based on his home that he invites you to, or that he dramatically saves your life at one point, or that his signature move is a sassy little snap when doing magic, or that his voice actor was clearly having a field day with some of the line deliveries-
but anyway it’s past my bedtime enjoy my Emet Selch rant
