that eddie getting shot scene was actually the craziest shit i’ve ever watched in my life. the blood splattering on buck’s face. the way they were standing on opposite sides of the screen looking at each other before eddie fell. the fact that eddie was looking into buck’s eyes as he passed out. the way buck was staring at him in shock. what the fuck.

The way Eddie's fingers twitch towards him while he's fighting unconsciousness on the ground in a puddle of his own blood. How Buck crawls under a fire truck, after he was crushed by one and almost lost everything, to reach Eddie. The way the camera shows their hands as Buck finally reaches him. How Buck just tossed him over his shoulder like he hasn't survived three devastating near death experiences in a weekend. The way Eddie wakes up covered in his own blood, bleeding out and fading away, but all be cares about is if Buck - who's begging him to stay and his voice is cracking and he's covered in Eddie's blood from the tips of his fingers to his lips - is hurt. How Buck wished it was him instead because that would be better than Eddie and Christopher suffering, his family hurting.

Buck accidentally says "love you" to Eddie one time as he's leaving cuz he's in a rush, and then he starts panicking cuz oh god now he's gonna know. Except Eddie is just like huh guess we're doing that now cool, so he just starts saying it all the time. Like every time Buck leaves his place to go back to his new house, Eddie is like "bye, love you!". And Buck has to try very hard not to have a heart attack every time and somehow manage to stutter out a very quiet "love you too" in response instead.

keep thinking about those screenshots of buck's house after bobby died. no flowers. no one sent him flowers because it wasn't his dad who died, not really. just like chris leaving wasn't his son leaving, not really. eddie going to texas wasn't his partner leaving, not really. buck occupies all of these spaces unofficially and he knows who he is to them but when they leave he's always, always left with nothing. again. most important relationships of his life and he's empty-handed and wondering if he'd imagined it all in the first place.

“because i don’t need you either” is such a crazy line to me because. buck, eddie didn’t say he doesn’t need you. he literally says at the beginning of the episode “i don’t know what im going to do without you”. but buck’s rsd gets massively triggered overhearing eddie’s (not genuine) words (spoken in the most impersonal way possible way to random people! because he does not know them and they don’t need his life story!). and the ultimate conclusion of this is that buck hears, in between eddie’s lines, that he isn’t needed. when he knows at his core that he does need eddie, and that’s why he’s lying, acting out in the way he is, being petty and lashing out, telling eddie he can move too, that he’s “an abandoner”, that he’s replacing him with a “new best friend”. buddie divorce arc goes so crazy to me
