absolutely hate it when the pleasurable activity procrastination hits. i’m going to do something fun that brings me joy but not yet. yeah, not yet. not yet. maybe i shouldn’t do it at all, it’s not that fun
grief is so crazy like what if i forget what her laugh sounds like. does she know i loved her. i miss her so much. i catch myself doing things she used to do. i wish i could call her. i miss her so much. i do a crossword puzzle. i cry while washing the dishes. does she know i loved her? my heart feels like a hummingbird. i miss her so much. what if i forget what her laugh sounds like. what if i forget.
i talked ab this feeling in therapy yday and my therapist asked me, “would it really be so bad if your memories changed? if they softened and faded or looked different over time? why does that frighten you so much?” and i said, “i don’t want the love to disappear.” and she looked at me for a long moment and then she said, “it won’t. it doesn’t work that way. even if the memories soften or change, it doesn’t mean the love does. that love keeps going backward in time, forever, because you love her still. all is not lost.” i just thought i would share that in case it resonated w anyone else too.
Literally any other colour would’ve been a better choice guys.
I’d like to point out that the colour red has more positive than negative meanings.
im sorry but this reply absolutely killed me
red can mean whatever the heck you want it to mean, that is never going to change that this straight up looks like they DRAGGED A BLOODY BODY ACROSS THE FUCKING FLOOR 😂
Hi fun fact, colors do have meaning and there is a legit thing called color theory. Red does has more positive connotations than negative like the @mintymaiden said. Red is associated with more love, lust, passion than blood and death just like the chart shows you but If you want, here’s a link for you to check it out yourself. Also, check out “The Designer’s Dictionary of Color” by Sean Adams. Have fun learning something
You can theorize to Nebraska and back but that doesn’t change my immediate reaction which is that someone is literally dragging a corpse around
I like that the presumption here is that “No One On Tumblr Has Heard of Color Theory, Let Me Explain in Depth” rather than simply acknowledging that the VISUAL EFFECTS of this particular color choice, applied in the manner it was, can still amount to “this is a hospital and that looks like blood”
like, color theory doesn’t exist in a vacuum. If your design of choice for Blood Red Paint is asymmetric splatters and sploches against the wall, or in this case, a snail trail on the hallway’s floor, an infographic won’t override the viewers’ instinct.
this post is the perfect summation of tumblr’s reading comprehension and critical thought abilities
Reblogging because there’s a lot of new people on here and you need some context for the jokes.
Help a newcomer, reblog Children’s Hospital Colour Theory
6 people have died. There have also been 25 hospitalizations and 27 illnesses across 18 US states.

Folks. I have been seeing people say stuff like “just cook it to 165⁰, it will be fine”
NO. Do not tell people this, do not do it yourself. Most people are not trained in food safety and do not know how to properly reheat food. Listeria is not something to fuck around with. It is highly virulent, and it causes meningitis/encephalitis. I AM a highly trained food safety professional, and if I had any of these products in my house I would throw it away, and anything else it may have come in contact with, and sanitize my fridge with bleach on top of it. Do. Not. Risk it.
Food contaminated with Clostridium botulinum is not possible to make safe to eat, point blank PERIOD. The bacteria themselves can be destroyed, but NOT THE TOXIN THEY PRODUCE. WHICH IS WHAT ACTUALLY CAN KILL YOU.
Get your money back if you need to, but please for love of all you hold dear, don’t eat it or feed it to someone else. Again, we’re not talking about a few days of an upset stomach. We’re talking spinal taps and needing to be on a ventilator because all your muscles are paralyzed and you can’t even *breathe* on your own.
Also, I would be very cautious about eating any ready to eat, prepared food at all right now. Which sucks because a lot of us are busy and rely on convenience foods; I do too. Listeria and botulinum can survive in low oxygen, cold (below 41⁰) environments, which is enough to prevent other types of bacteria growth, but not those freaks. If it’s something that you can reheat, make sure it gets to at least 165⁰ and holds that temp for at least 17 seconds, and take temps in several areas. If it’s cooked in the microwave, stir it halfway through cooking, again after cooking, WAIT TWO MINUTES AND *THEN* TAKE THE TEMPERATURE. Microwaves do not heat food evenly. Stirring it and letting the temperature even out is a crucial step in making sure it’s as safe as possible.
But again, if you know for absolute sure any food in your house is part of a recall, don’t eat it or serve it. Get your money back or just throw it away.
the only reliable, effective way of “protecting children” is education. but people don’t want to hear that because they don’t actually care about protecting children, they care about protecting a mythologised ideal of innocence
