i think it’s safe to assume that the theory that the audio glitches whenever somebody lies is basically true at this point, especially after this latest episode. even smth as simple as sam asking for cinnamon swirl when he really wanted pain au chocolat prompts a slight fuzzy noise.

an interesting thing i wanted to note is that sarcasm seems to be exempt from this whole thing. gwen’s comment towards lena when she leaves her office as well as alice’s whole shtick don’t prompt any fuzzies. this leads me to believe it’s specifically when someone’s hiding something, not when they’re just wrong or joking.
