I’m so curious about your perfume job. How do you get into that as a career?

I work at a custom perfumery! It’s more a job than a career unfortunately, I was trained at the shop (trained by someone who went to school for perfume but did not study it in any higher education myself) and we really rarely get to work with raw materials.

I really love it but it doesn’t pay enough for me to be able to stay forever. If I wanted to pursue perfumery as a career I would have to go back to school for it for sure.

I am the nicest, sweetest, most rage-filled person I know

was making a perfume for an older gay man (repeat customer, big fan) when he asked if we had civet. I said yes and asked if he’d ever smelled civet by itself before since most people don’t love it when it’s not blended. and bestie said “yeah it smells like rimming”
