"I confessed, to the wrong priest" is my favorite line in Wake Up Dead Man, because it's so subtle and yet so kind. Martha has been so dismissive of Jud the whole movie. Not outright mean, of course, but she clearly saw him as a tenant who sometimes gave her a hand rather than a priest, and put him down when he seemed to overstep by acting like one. The line is an admission that not only Jud is a priest, he's a priest who does share the beliefs she's built herself over for decades. Even disillusioned by Wicks's self-serving hypocrisy, he still allows her to see her faith as a moral pillar. It's saying "I should have trusted you, and if I had, maybe none of this would have happened".

It's the "because you are a good nurse" of the movie.

Just watched Jojo Rabbit, and I have a lot of thoughts, but I also need to finish crying.

i will say, it's nice to see a story about a Jew in hiding written from the Jewish perspective because she was ready to fuck shit up. And Taika as Hitler was so fantastic. And also that it was a story of the indoctrination of the German children and how it was so intentional and deep.

Great film. Great fucking film.

You guys are going to make Luke (and probably Nicola eventually) not want to come back to Bridgerton, just like you did with Regé-Jean Page

Again, I'm going to need the Bridgerton fandom to keep Regé's name out of their mouths if they can't be respectful because some of y'all are being cartoonishly evil at this point. Jonathan Bailey getting gigs for things outside of Bridgerton should be praised, because good for him, but it's the way some in this fandom cannot celebrate his successes without bringing up Regé going "Oh well if he can do it, I'm still waiting for Regé career to take off since he believed Bridgerton was holding him back-" how about you shut up? Like, not only is this rude to both actors, but Regé had to deal with racism because, no matter how much some of you try to ignore it, this fandom is very racist (and colorist because I've recently seen people call the actor who plays John "too dark" to be the male lead and many other things). I'll never forget the #NotMyDuke going around during the early days of season one, I'm happy Regé got out of there. Even if you didn't like him as an actor, that does not give you the right to be so hateful especially to a real life person.
