When are we invoking the 25th Amendment? Donald Trump has gone totally insane.

if vampires existed in real life i think there would be shady companies advertising “organic blood” sourced from “willing donors” who are coincidentally all poor people being paid like $5 per blood donation. and like haughty vegan vampires who only drink a synthetic blood drink thats brewed in a way thats actively worse for the enviroment. and radical traditionalist vampires who go on tiktok and claim that true alpha chads have to drain and kill people and anyone who leaves their victims alive is a liberal cuck. enter the world of hypothetical insufferable vampire politics with me.

BP did hire PR firm Ogilvy & Mather in 2004, and coined the term ‘carbon footprint’ as well as creating the 'carbon footprint calculator’. This gave the impression that climate change was primarily the fault of the individual consumers.

From a New York Times opinion piece on carbon footprint (via the Wayback Machine): 'In 2004, BP hired the public relations firm Ogilvy & Mather to improve its image, in part by conveying the message that consumers of oil and natural gas bear the responsibility for their greenhouse gas emissions, not the producers of the oil and gas they use. The result was BP’s ingenious carbon footprint calculator, which allows individuals to calculate the carbon emissions that result from their activities.’

From a BBC Future article on 'how companies blame you for climate change’: 'Similar criticisms have been levelled at terms like “carbon footprints” – which was first coined in a 2005 TV advert from BP. The advert appears to show members of the public being stopped in the street and asked what is “their carbon footprint”.’

From an Irish Times on individualising blame: 'In 2004, it unveiled a “carbon footprint calculator”, so that individuals could assess how much their daily activities were polluting the planet. The marketing campaign, led by Ogilvy & Mather, fostered the false idea that climate change was the fault of individuals rather than fossil fuel companies.’

To all the nincompoops saying, “But she defied an order from law enforcement”.

Stop. They are ICE. They only have jurisdiction over immigration. They cannot stop a vehicle for a traffic violation. They cannot remove a person from a car because they are blocking a road. THEY AREN’T COPS. They’re taxpayer-funded bounty hunters.

If orders were issued to Renee Nicole Good by ICE, they were unlawful.

And they murdered her.

really fucking boils my cabbages when the right is completely correct that something is a problem in society they’re just hyperbolically stupid about why.

eg falling birth rates are not a problem because something something the future of the white race and they’re a sign that modern women aren’t sufficiently interested in staying home and making babies. they are however a problem because a society with no economic safety net is not prepared to manage a demographic shift toward having more retired people than working people and they’re a sign that millions of adults in 2026 do not feel financially stable enough to add to their families

people in the notes are saying “just allow more immigration” and like okay, I literally believe we should all have completely open borders (well actually I believe countries should not exist), so I’m on board there to an extent, but I don’t think outsourcing reproduction to poorer parts of the world is a good long-term solution. we should probably actually do something about how so many “middle class” people are living on 15 knife edges simultaneously and can’t imagine being responsible for children.

Here in Occupied Minneapolis, I am reeling after reading the news this morning. I live less than two blocks from where Renee Good was brutally murdered last week.

I had believed after seeing the footage that Renee Good’s death was effectively instant. That one of the three shots fired had been a head shot.

It turns out that was incorrect. She was shot twice in the chest. At least one bullet hit the left side of her head–she was bleeding out her ear–and her left arm. They’re not sure yet if it was four shots or three per her body’s condition. If it was the three we all saw and heard, then it sounds to me like she raised her left arm defensively, possibly.

But more importantly, her death was NOT instant. When EMS was finally permitted to reach her, twenty minutes after she was shot, she still had a pulse. She had at that point stopped breathing, but she STILL HAD A PULSE. I know how long it takes to get to the nearest trauma centre from our neighbourhood. It’s six minutes. It’s VERY close to us.

But they wouldn’t let a physician bystander render aid–they threatened to shoot him. They wouldn’t let EMS bring their rig up to the scene. They made EMS carry in their equipment and they made EMS carry Renee to their rig.

Twenty minutes is how long it took them to allow her to receive aid. Twenty. Fucking. Minutes.

When she was six minutes away from a level one trauma centre.

I wonder if she was conscious at any point as she sat in her car, bleeding. I wonder if she could hear her wife screaming that they’d killed Renee. I wonder if she thought ‘I’m not dead yet.’ I wonder if she wondered why no one was helping her. I wonder if she thought of her children. I wonder if she thought they’d killed her wife, too.

I wonder how alone and cold and frightened she was as she sat there bleeding in her car, with a doctor nearby and EMS trying to get to her.

I don’t know what structures in her body were damaged. I don’t know if Renee could have lived after her injuries. I don’t know what recovery might have looked like, or if it was possible.

But I know that her brave, strong heart beat for twenty minutes after she was shot. I know that her family was robbed not just of her life but of any chance to say goodbye while her heart still beat.

And above all, I know that she did not need to die. Jonathan Ross murdered her for that brave, strong heart that beat for twenty minutes after he tried to extinguish her life in a heartbeat.

Renee was here. And she was Good.

“fun fact: as a DV survivor i cannot register to vote because doing so makes my address public. anyone who is fleeing or hiding from an abuser is automatically disenfranchised from the political process and this is a feature, not a bug”]

I don’t know of the original poster might not be aware

but!

if you’ve been a victim of domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking, you can enroll into the address confidentiality program (free of cost!) and be registered to vote as an absentee voter and your name and address will not be made available for the public

it is super easy to get enrolled - the application takes like 5 minutes, but it has to be with someone who is certified to do it (most likely an advocate! try going to a family justice center in your area or calling the Attorney Generals office in your area!!!!)

ALSO :

you don’t need to have any police reports or have a protection order to qualify!!! you just have to sign stating that you’ve been a victim of one of the aforementioned crimes.

Links to the info for every state in the Wikipedia article:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Address_confidentiality_program

Reposting as Primaries and General Voting are coming up.

this also works for legal name changes, theres a waver.
