Concept: in a setting where vampires exist and can only be harmed by symbols of faith (crucifixes, etc.), a James Randi-style skeptic/supernatural debunker witnesses his family murdered by vampires, and dedicated his life to hunting down what he believes are a cabal of ordinary serial killers with a blood fetish and some cheap plastic fangs. They die when he shoots them with an ordinary gun, granted holy status by the sheer force of his belief that they are actually just ordinary humans who will die when shot.

The reason the sun burns vampires is that all the plants worship it.

That is the single most insane addition possible and I love it.

if vampires existed in real life i think there would be shady companies advertising "organic blood" sourced from "willing donors" who are coincidentally all poor people being paid like $5 per blood donation. and like haughty vegan vampires who only drink a synthetic blood drink thats brewed in a way thats actively worse for the enviroment. and radical traditionalist vampires who go on tiktok and claim that true alpha chads have to drain and kill people and anyone who leaves their victims alive is a liberal cuck. enter the world of hypothetical insufferable vampire politics with me.

This is beautiful but also horror

Someone aggressively expects something of you that isn't reasonable to expect of you.

This throws off your ability to determine how much you should expect of yourself. When you expect too much of yourself, you're unable to recognize it because you're expecting less than other people are and with less aggression.

Being unable to recognize when you're expecting too much of yourself and therefore unable to stop yourself, you end up getting into the habit of expecting too much of yourself.

People expecting too much of you leads to you expecting too much of yourself, even if you don't value their opinion at all.

You then catch yourself having the habit of expecting too much of yourself. You decide that you want to break the habit. Anytime you catch yourself expecting something that you frequently overexpect of yourself, you put an immediate stop to it.

But then, you end up depriving yourself. You used to enjoy doing it every once in a while when you randomly felt up to it. And now, you've had to stop yourself to prevent expecting too much of yourself.
