Please yap about biopower in jjk because it does drive me crazy when I think about the plan to use gojo as a battery because WHATBDO YOU EVEN MEAN. HOW??? I legit wanna know the logistics

well, @thedarknesseater-revived since you asked, and since i had a whole thing about it that was sitting in my drafts, i will 😋
(in relation to this post, and i'll even throw this post in here since it is what sparked me on this obsessive analysis. a small disclaimer i'm simplifying the concepts here for the ease of communicating a complex philosophy to those who may not be familiar with it. biopower is not simple or straight forward, it is an intricate web of politics, knowledge, institutions, etc. etc. etc.)
jjk x biopower is the absolute love of my life. i've said it before, but i'm gonna repeat myself a little here and expand on a couple points.
biopower is all about how modern institutions control populations by regulating peoples bodies and by extension their lives. this philosophy (by michel foucault) is something i constantly see reflected in the story and power systems established in jjk.
particularly the hierarchical oppressive nature of jujutsu society, the biopolitical controllers of this society directly related to the existence of hereditary innate techniques, and the exploitation of sorcerers with the training and expectation that they will cultivate their skills and discipline their bodies to maximize their usefulness within the system. basically, at its core, biopower aims to optimize the body for productivity (i.e., exorcising curses).
biopower is subtle. the oppressed do not necessarily realize they are oppressed because these roles and duties are normalized within the social systems of the society (i.e., in politics, in education, in religion, etc.)
First day of my college classes today and man...picking to do biochem, and physics in the same semester wasn't the choice. But, listen. Listen.
Nerd Gojo this, Nerd Gojo that. What about Nerd Suguru? Trust.
Like listen. Nerd History/Philosophy Suguru and Nerd PreMed/Physics Satoru. To halves of a whole, it just makes sense.
Nerd Suguru who’s really into anthropological theory and can spend hours in deep debates on Levi-Strauss’s structuralism and Foucault’s ideas on biopower.
Wait wait wait hear me out because biopower is all about how modern institutions control populations by regulating peoples bodies and by extension their lives. Think public health, access to birth control, even education. Biopower is not limited to these things, it’s a very broad concept that also encompasses things like immigration control, prisons, the military, etc. But this is a concept that also directly relates to the themes of jjk itself. Particularly the hierarchical, oppressive nature of jujutsu society, the biopolitical controllers of this society directly related to the existence of hereditary innate techniques, and the exploitation of sorcerers with the training and expectation that they will cultivate their skills and discipline their bodies to maximize their usefulness within the system. Fuck, I should write a fic about this.
tyyy @rae-lune and @catsmical for the tags (days ago...ive been in the trenches of moving)
a bit from the next chapter of sincerity is scary
“You know,” Yuuji starts, an idea forming, “Someone once told me that body doubling can help with things like that. Things you’re avoiding.” Megumi’s gaze snaps up, eyes locking. They’re so…green. Like a meadow, or fresh grass in the spring. “Someone told you that, huh?” “Sure did. Actually, they really helped me out when I needed to fold about three weeks worth of laundry.” He revels in the smile dawning across Megumi’s face. “So, you know, if you’re interested you could come over tonight and finish your applications? I could cook us dinner.” “Wow, you’re not gonna force me into a cooking lesson? What did I do to deserve such treatment?” Megumi jokes. “You’re lucky I like you,” Yuuji quips back, and the words are out of his mouth before he realizes the implication of them. Heat blooms in his cheeks, likely all the way up to his ears and it's probably bright enough that it matches the shade of his hair. Shit. That was too much. But you can like your friends, right? Yuuji likes Yuuta, and Toge, and Todo. He likes Nobara. It’s fine. It’s fine. When he finally drags his eyes back up to Megumi, his cheeks are a light shade of pink too. “Lucky me,” he answers.
saw someone say that they don't read fics under 10k and had to laugh because more fool you, that is where all the bangers are. obviously I'm biased but truly nothing hits like a 1.5k fic with a lowercase title from some obscure poet where nothing actually happens and yet you emerge blinking with a completely new outlook on the character. infinitely rereadable. like a perfectly crafted pastry. I'm gobbling them up!
Chrollo (2025 ver)

Sputnik 2, launched on November 3, 1957, carried the dog Laika, the first living creature to be shot into space and orbit Earth. Laika was a stray dog found on the streets of Moscow. There were no plans to return her to Earth, and she lived only a few hours in orbit. …

this just in: hyper independent control freak gets off on the idea of being completely helpless and at someone's mercy
Yuuta the human cat tree
Also also the animation of yuuji walking down those stairs in the first episode as he lists out all the things that happened and why he isn't a safe person to go back to the school and how he just keeps going down the stairs? Because they are seemingly unending even with choso there with him, it's just yuuji's feet in the frame. Because he's drowning in that despair post sukuna's onslaught in shibuya. That really stood out to me and was very visually impactful.
.
Gojo guiding megumi's face to suck toji off and he's got megumi by the hair, telling him to pull back his teeth and faltten his tongue down and make sure his lips are wet to create a smooth slide but then toji gets too impatient and he almost facefucks megumi which satoru has to remind him not to choke the boy. And he's got one hand wrapped around toji and the other buried in megumi's hair as he coaches megumi through how to breathe. He also whispers telling him to swallow when toji's done. He teaches megumi how to thank daddy because no one knows how toji likes it better than satoru, at least not yet.
But also because I like to think about post canon itafushi and how it's such prime real estate to breed resentment and codependency to radioactive levels of toxic, and seeing these new panels of yuuji not being able to age . What does that look like in an itafushi context? Has yuuji found a way to extend megumi's life? Is he becoming something like tengen where he isn't really human anymore but he's alive? And he feels the exhaustion of having his life extended unnaturally because what if yuuji found some cursed object or some way to keep megumi alive. I want yuuji to take that promise of megumi living for him and solely him to an extreme where megumi is not allowed to give up until yuuji dies either.
