We should also not forget that the tobacco industry aggressively targets lower income communities where people will have worse access to health care as well as social services. When considering addiction, it's important to remember that people with weaker support systems are more likely to start and are going to have a much harder time quitting! Poverty and addiction are inherently race issues, but it's much easier to attack people than it is to try and understand them and want to help.
