Trying to install Linux mint but I keep getting errno 5 😭😭😭 I've tried legit everything
Ive also only ever had problems installing Linux mint
I will be trying Ubuntu, I've tried pop_os and got an innit error (just like fedora, I will try a purely popOS usb since I was using ventoy), and I'm too much of a pussy to try arch. closest I got to arch is the arch-based Manjaro, but I got a black screen after the initial yerminal. If I have to, I'll have to resort to Lubuntu or maybe even porteus, but I really want to get a more modern, user friendly Linux distro for my entry. Might try downloading Linux mint with a different desktop environment (grasping these straws so hard rn)
Will try tomorrow though, I'm getting tired.
Also, just for fun, here's a photo of everything I have on my ventoy USB :3 (Ubuntu currently downloading)
no I don't use all of them regularly, but if I get like a junk laptop or smth it would be hilarious to multi-boot all of them. Plus, why not.
It really should not be this difficult to install linuc if you want when youre trying again we can do a live tutoring session or something?? Im not an expert or anything, but I've done my share of installing different distros..
while I appreciate the offer (tysm :33), I really don’t feel comfortable A) calling online friends, or people online in general and B) wasting their time (in my eyes 😭)
I will check out the forums, and maybe try more distros, but I’ll probably learn+switch to base arch once I’ve actually got something installed correctly and familiarized myself with the terminal. I don’t feel comfortable enough yet with the drive and partition names and see myself easily wiping out everything. If there was an arch based distro that worked and was decently user-friendly, I def would do that.
