I have a pointless AU in my mind that Tallest Red is also a defective and projects that insecurity onto Zim to take potential focus off himself.
I also like the idea that Red and Purple saw Miyuki as a mother figure and had to face her disapproval of them being together (as relationships are seen as a weakness and distraction from conquests)
