lyrics
How lucky am I that I can afford to be alive?
How lucky am I that I’m living through the end of times?
Giving up everything I wanted has brought be peace of mind
Got nothin’ to do today, but still I think I’m doing fine
Autumn leaves, something calling me
My younger self, are you proud of me?
Coming up from behind me is a pair of electric eyes
The doctors, barkeepers, and Eddie keep me well-anesthetized
How lucky am I that I am easily paralyzed?
Got nothing to say here, but I’ll sing whatever the fuck I like
And I can see that it’s not meant to be
My older self, have you forgiven me?
How lucky am I that I can afford to be alive?
Everyone that I knew deserted, guess this fuckin’ town is mine
The eyes behind me widen and I am paralyzed (in paradise)
I don’t know what Eddie gave me, but he said I’d be just fine…

I don't like folk music much, but "In case I make it," is probably one of the most emotionally powerful albums I've ever listened to. The first third of this album hits you with so many emotional gut punches and even after that the album is full of surprises. Would not be surprised if this becomes a modern classic. sophiebbls
