Please help save our dog, Booker
This is Booker. Heโs been a part of our family since 2017, when we rescued him as a 10 month old. Heโs struggled with severe anxiety his whole life, but heโs developed strong bonds with all of us. Especially with me, heโs an absolute Mamaโs Boy. Heโs the sweetest, happiest, most loving dog you could imagine. He adores giving hugs, snuggling with his humans, and going everywhere with his brother, Copper.
A few weeks ago, July 28, he was given a clean bill of health at his yearly vet checkup. Just three weeks later, August 17, he suddenly became very ill. After multiple emergency visits, tests, and an ultrasound, the vets found a severe gallbladder blockage. His gallbladder is too damaged to save and must be removed immediately.
Without this surgery, his gallbladder will rupture releasing toxins into his body and can cause internal bleeding, infection, sepsis, and death. With surgery, his prognosis is excellent, and he can continue to live a full, happy life. Heโs stable on medication for the moment, but every day we wait the more likely it is high gallbladder will rupture.
Weโve already spent $2,086 on diagnostics and medication. The surgery is estimated at $15,434, though weโve set our fundraiser goal slightly higher to account for platform fees and post-surgery care. We cannot cover this on our own.
If youโre able to donate, it would mean the world to us. If you canโt, even reblogging this post helps more than we can say.
