i just really enjoy characters who aren’t just “weird” but who genuinely experience the world differently than most people especially wrt how they experience their own emotions like i will always be a sucker for characters who don’t really know if they CAN experience “normal” emotions figuring out how they can relate to other people etc. and i basically never enjoy the “solution” to this being assimilation or like exceptionalism of a love interest character. i never want to see a character realize that they’re experiencing “normal” romantic feelings but the tension and possible conflict of “idk if i can even feel love like that but this might be the closest i can get” do you see the difference??? and i also love low empathy characters and never want to see a low empathy character get “positive character development” where they can suddenly feel empathy like “normal” i want them to be bad at it forever okay thank you
