Recently had some new neighbours moving into the neighbourhood and you know that means? Noisy kids! Well, these kids were anything but that so here's an exclusive first hand shot of some of the most well behaved kids you'll ever see!

That video T.T Ya BR, only difference is this is me going out daily and taking pictures to see how they're doing. I have more pictures for you guys, will upload them a bit later on. They have grown up quite a bit in those couple of days since I took that video. They look more like birds now haha.

I would like to, but can't. Fortunately, their parents are very protective so I'm not as worried though there has been a raven flying around the area ;;

No, firstly, anyone can add any random string onto a video

And even if it were the real filename it only makes the video more suspicious. You see, that filename corresponds to the filenaming convention on Whatsapp, making it a video that you have either sent to someone else or received from someone else on 29 June 2018

Interesting that they nest so late into July, may I ask you where you live? I have not much information about the habits of American Robins, but them being thrushes, I would expect much earlier nesting, as our thrushes do.

Well then, if it's more northerly, then it makes sense for such a late breeding. You have a nice show there, our birds are choosing more secluded locations - well, that includes right above the entrance door to the house

but we can't see into the cavity there.

ya, it's nice to be able to poke in and see the daily developments. Parents are always watching though so sometimes it's rough to get a quick peek in since they start "screaming" and being a bit more aggressive (flying near your head etc...). Regardless, I believe I'm blessed to be able to see their development firsthand :D

Ok, so I have some bad news. There were originally 3 eggs, but I only seem to be counting 2 birds or at least those are the ones moving around. There is a good chance that their third sibling has already died several days ago

On that sad note, here's an up-to-date picture of the remaining troopers:

edit: on another note, mamabird saw me taking pictures of her young-ins and decided to just watch and not try and intimidate me haha. A good first step to hopefully many more pictures! I can't wait until they try to fly! :D

Feed the parent or did you mean child? There's a father and mother that seem to go out and get food/keep watch etc... It's a well planned operation so I don't really interfere in any shape or form. I'm mostly observing them though if it's not clear, I'm taking these picture at essentially point blank, so if I wanted I can even touch them (I'd rather not though) since there's talks about what it means for the child.

Nope, no bird feeder.

I hope I don't sound stupid but did they nest on your garden (or whatever you call the place) or is it the neighbours'?

I hope these kids make it to be strong adults later on ^_^
... and not cry as their ~~cheese~~ varied gameplay crumbles.
