WIP Wednesday
“I hope we can find our way back,” Mobius muttered anxiously. “Was that a right turn we took just now?”
“We’ve taken five right turns since leaving the Founder’s Museum,” Loki answered. “Right, Right, left, right, three more lefts, right again, left, right.”
“Now you’re just showing off.”
“I can visualise the route perfectly.”
“Are you sure about that? Only I feel like we’ve been down this hallway before.”
“We’re not walking in circles,” said Loki firmly.
“Uh huh. So how do you explain why we’ve passed the same poster twice?”
“It’s a copy. Obviously.”
Mobius shook his head. “This one’s damaged – look.” He indicated a poster with a poorly repaired tear down the middle, right through Miss Minutes’ smiling face.
Loki started to reply – maybe a disaffected employee was roaming the corridors systematically vandalising posters of Miss Minutes (a laudable undertaking, in his view)? – when they rounded another corner and came to an abrupt halt. To their right, only a few paces away, was an old-fashioned mahogany door with a gold plaque that read: Piety & Propaganda Department.
