The best piece of writing advice I can give is that you should strive to be sincere rather than original.

You can't force originality. Originality will arise as a natural consequence of sincerity. Make the story completely and apologetically yours, and originality will come by virtue of it being your story.

Dude I cannot wait for references in the new Stargate series

Because even if they can't get the actors, there HAS to be references, right??

Say there's a scene on a ship, and they mention how it works or something, and someone says, "General Carter helped design most of the systems," or SOMETHING

Like if nothing else at least crumbs 😭😭

Just give me an S/J confirmation thrown in, and I'm set for life seriously. They don't have to elaborate further, just a confirmation that they are in fact together and I'll be happy.

Ideally I do want more, and to see them and confirmed would be the best thing ever, but I'll take crumbs if it's all I can get.

I have a very specific vision of a General Carter cameo in the pilot wherein we hear only her side of a phone conversation with Jack (for maximum suspense she doesn’t say his name until the very last minute if at all, but it’s obvious from context that she’s talking to her partner/husband) and at the end she says “love you too, bye” before hanging up and immediately getting down to stargate business❤️

I feel like the powers that be have to know that literally everyone is expecting to see her at least once, so if we don’t even get that I’m legit gonna be pissed lol

For ever new star trek alien race that looks exactly like a human person no prosthetics no nothin one writer will be shot in the paramount back lot
