Shaimaas campaign has been getting stagnant! Her campaign is still receiving updates. Currently, her most recent update was from October 28th. Her campaign is still verified (#610) and Ilana her daughter still needs an operation. Share this campaign and if you can DONATE. @kiirodora still has campaign commissions open for those who maybe are hesitant! I care and worry about Shaimaa a lot and it would mean the world to us if you could help her family.

WHY THE FUCK DOES EVERYONE WANNA BE LITTLE GIRLS ITS PISSING ME OFF BE A GROWN WOMAN. NOW

HELP SHIRA SURVIVE A TRANSMISOGYNIST ATTEMPTED MURDER

Shira is a Turkish trans woman who was the victim of attempted murder by a man on the street who realized she was transfemme. After he stabbed her, dozens of people walked by her on the sidewalk until a teenager stopped and helped her.

Shira is now in the hospital in critical condition. She’s undergone emergency surgery and will need multiple operations and long-term care to recover—physically and emotionally.

Shira has no close family nearby, is not accepted by public organizations in Turkey because she is trans, and she’s unable to work while she heals. Her friends are raising funds to cover her medical bills, therapy, and basic living expenses during this painful time.

As of me posting this, the fundraiser has €125 out of a €12k goal. If you can’t give anything to help a trans woman survive a horrific attack, please at least reblog this, set it on your queue, whatever you need to do to make sure others can see and help. Thank you.

UPDATE:

With the help of our community and your donations Shira has been able to stay in the hospital. She now needs to be operated on as soon as possible, we need to get to our first goal of 4000€ urgently. Please share this and consider giving what you can if you haven't already.

Currently we're at €2994/4000

We can do this guys!

€3436/4000

Just a little push until the €4000 milestone where Shira will be able to receive her urgent surgery!

€3721 / 4000

This is time sensitive, folks!

UPDATE:

I've heard from her close friends that the surgeries were a complete success! Thank you, everyone who donated!

All that's left is to pay off the bills for her stay at the hospital. We're close, folks! Just need to push a bit more for a little while longer!

We're aiming for a minimum of 6k to pay off Shira's hospital bills!

We're currently at €4715 / 6000

Updated today:

Please, it’s an emergency. We urgently need to raise €6,000 as soon as possible to cover life-saving surgery and the treatment of post-surgery infections. Time is running out. We’re in a critical situation, and every minute counts. Please, if you’re reading this—don’t scroll past. Even a small donation can make a huge difference. We’re begging you from the bottom of our hearts: help us save a life before it’s too late. Share. Donate. Pray. Anything you can do means a lot to us right now

Srsly guys, this is time sensitive.

We're less than 700 away from our goal of 6000

Updated today (August 12):

"I would like to sincerely thank everyone who has contributed to our decision to raise this amount. As I mentioned before, the hospital expenses are increasing every single day. We are now very close to reaching our goal — only €600 remain. We hope the surgery can take place very soon. I truly hope you will not grow weary of supporting us, and I kindly ask you to share this post as much as you can. Every single day truly makes a difference for us."

We're really close, guys! Please keep pushing!

Updated today! (August 21)

"After everything we have been through, we finally have some uplifting news. We are deeply grateful to share that Shira’s surgery was successful. Her condition is now stable, and according to the doctor, she will be discharged from the hospital within the next two days.
Our priority now is to ensure she has a safe place to recover. The area where she was living before is no longer safe for her, as it is the same place where the incident happened. For this reason, we are trying to secure a safe apartment for her, and we will cover the rent, the deposit, as well as food and basic needs for at least one month until she regains her strength.
The estimated cost for this is around €900, which includes one month’s rent, the landlord’s required deposit, and basic living expenses. We sincerely hope we can gather this amount to guarantee her a safe environment where she can heal.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support, kindness, and prayers during this difficult time."

Please keep pushing, everyone!

Urgent update!

She has been issued a hospital discharge and is ready to leave, but unfortunately there is no safe and suitable place for her during the recovery period. We are in urgent need of 300 euros within the next 24 hours, please

Please, this is time sensitive!

Reviving this old post cos it seems to have way more traction than some of my newer posts.

January update:

Shira has been out of the hospital for a few months, and thanks to generous donations has been able to afford an appartment. However, she's still unable to work due to her injuries. Currently all her money is going towards staying housed, and there's not enough left for food and medicine.

In her own words from her January 12th update:

I’m truly in a difficult situation right now. All the money I managed to raise went toward paying my rent so I can make it through the rest of this month. At the moment, I still need to buy my medications and continue my treatment—on top of the healthy food I’m supposed to eat to support my healing. The amount I urgently need is around €500. I swear I currently have only €3 left, and I honestly don’t know how I’m going to get through the rest of the month. Please help me if you can. I’m in desperate need of support. If you’re not able to donate, sharing my fundraiser would mean a lot to me. Thank you so much.

Please everyone. She hasn't received a single donation in over 2 weeks.

This is how my mother used to bake bread when we were in Gaza. Now my sister and brother buy a bag of flour for the equivalent of $300 if they can find it.

There is a real famine in Gaza and all goods are very expensive

1 kilo of tomatoes costs $5

1 kilo of potatoes requires $10

1 kilo of onions costs $15

Please donate to my campaign so that I can save my family and support them in their distress

If you cannot donate, share the campaign

Please do not forget Gaza and donate to my family, even if it is twenty dollars

As of January 10th, this campaign has raised €1,620. They have only gotten €6 this month

"over a million users discuss suicide with chatgpt every week, what the fuck are we doing here?"

what we're doing here is *checks notes* having people forcefully committed to mental institutions where their freedom is heavily restricted if they talk about suicide with a real person, whether it's a therapist, friends & family, or most suicide hotlines. gee, i wonder why suicidal people are so desperate to talk about it with something that's incapable of calling cops to snatch them out of their home?

chatgpt sucks horribly in too many ways to count, but this is a problem that falls squarely on how deplorably society treats suicidal people, starving them of all options other than "tell someone and risk being committed to a mental institution that makes everything worse" or "keep quiet about it". over a million users discussing suicide with chatgpt a week isn't something that will change unless involuntary commitment is off the table.

Imagine being forced to flee your home with your children in your arms, spending months in uncertainty, only to return and find everything you worked so hard to build reduced to rubble. In an instant, the life you worked so hard for is gone.

Images: (Top) Muhammad with his two young children: Suha (3 years old) and Zuhair (1.5 years old). (Bottom) The remnants of Muhammad's house, which was destroyed amidst the conflict of the last year.

Story by @rumiandroses

This is reality Muhammad Anwar Yahya Abu Zanad and his family.

Before the war, Muhammad was a hardworking laborer at a contracting company. He built a good life for his wife Salsabil, their young children Suha (3 years old) and Zuhair (1.5 years old), and his extended family—including his parents, Anwar and Suha, and his siblings, Malak, Laila, and Abdul Rahman. Muhammad provided for them all, ensuring they had a home filled with love and security.

Then, war came.

In November 2023, their neighborhood was given an immediate evacuation order. Muhammad and his family fled to Rafah, where they lived for six months in a tent at Al-Khwarizmi School. But even this refuge was taken from them when Rafah was also ordered to evacuate.

Returning to their home in Khan Yunis, they found it bombed and barely standing. With nowhere else to go, Muhammad did his best to patch together what remained, but the house is not safe. Gaps in the structure allow rats, insects, and stray animals to enter. The family lives in constant discomfort, exposed to the elements.

Muhammad has not been able to find work since the war began. He relies entirely on scarce aid, struggling to feed his family. Baby Zuhair needs formula, but prices have skyrocketed. His father suffers from high blood pressure, his mother from diabetes, yet medicine is nearly impossible to afford.

Your donation will help:

✅ Repair Muhammad’s home or, if needed, assist in evacuating the family to safety.

✅ Provide food for Muhammad's family and baby formula for Muhammad’s young child.

✅ Purchase necessary medication for Muhammad's parents.

✅ Ensure access to clean water, hygiene supplies, and basic necessities.

Muhammad is doing everything he can to protect his family, but circumstances outside of his control are making life more difficult by the day.

Your support—whether through a donation or simply sharing his story—can be the difference between survival and despair.

Let’s stand together, and show Muhammad and his family that they are not alone.

You can donate to Muhammad's Chuffed campaign [HERE].

Muhammad and his wife have sent photos of their identification to Gaza Giving Tree for identity verification. We're hoping to help them get vetted by other mutual aid organizations like @gazavetters.

This campaign is also VETTED BY ASSOCIATION! Muhammad is the brother of Hanan Al-Qazazz and the brother-in-law of Hossam Al-Qazzaz ( @bashar-qazaz / @hos-pal ), who HAVE been vetted by @gazavetters and is (#287) on their list of verified campaigns.

Muhammed's campaign has been fully vetted by @/gazavetters, #603:

So far, they've raised less than $1500 in donations. Please donate a little and help push them to $2000!

As of January 20th, this campaign has raised $1,620. Last donation was a month ago
