hello i just saw two posts in a row where people were saying they were leaving the marauders fandom because of how it treated them so i would like to make a little rant about this all

for some of you, i love you and you make such amazing headcanons, fanart, fanfic, cosplays, ect ect, and you are genuinely such nice people and you are so cool mwah

and for some of you, what the fuck is wrong with you?? you out creators deadnames, and think it’s ok. you harass people for their headcanons and you think it’s ok. you call people bigots for headcanons that ARENT PROBLEMATIC and then turn a blind eye to the actually problematic headcanons and you think it’s ok. what happened to scroll or block?? what happened to oh idk being a decent human being??

i love the marauders, and i love the whimsy and joy and the fanfics and fanart and i love these characters, and i think personally no level of harassment is going to make me not like them, but i think that the fact that anyone is getting harassed or hated on simply because someone doesn’t like their headcanons is disgusting.

also! i feel like in wake of all this, i’ve had to walk on eggshells a lot of the time. it seems like i can’t make a post mentioning that i don’t like a ship or i see another post where someone mentions they don’t like a ship (NOT IN A DEATH THREAT WAY but literally “i don’t like _______”) and then people come after them. if you are leaving death threats then that is 100% wrong, but i should be able to say i simply don’t like a ship.

anyway! to conclude, constructive criticism is not ok when it’s just glorified hate, if you are ranking or judging anyone’s free creative work what are you doing with your life, and if you harass anyone please for the love of god leave this fandom.
