What the fuck

if vampires existed in real life i think there would be shady companies advertising "organic blood" sourced from "willing donors" who are coincidentally all poor people being paid like $5 per blood donation. and like haughty vegan vampires who only drink a synthetic blood drink thats brewed in a way thats actively worse for the enviroment. and radical traditionalist vampires who go on tiktok and claim that true alpha chads have to drain and kill people and anyone who leaves their victims alive is a liberal cuck. enter the world of hypothetical insufferable vampire politics with me.

Anonymous asked:

would u mind telling me a cool fact about black holes?

Almost every galaxy is believed to contain a supermassive black hole at its center. However, unlike stars, which take up the vast majority of their solar system’s mass, the SMBH usually only takes up a small fraction of their galaxy’s mass. For example, the Sun takes up 99.86% of the mass of the Solar System, while Sagittarius A*, the Milky Way’s SMBH, takes up only about 0.00036% of the Milky Way’s total mass. Even the Messier 87* black hole, at 6.5 billion solar masses, only takes up approximately 0.27% of its galaxy’s mass.

fun how lamb and deer symbolism are both like. wide eyed innocent guiless creature but lambs are like sweet doomed sacrificial soft friendly and deers are like. You are unwieldy and animal-dumb. Your stupid ass will get smashed into red viscera for reasons you would never be capable of remotely understanding but it will be your fault

When I was nineteen I saw a deer—a smart one who did not freeze in headlights—sprint out of the way of a car to jump over a government fence on the other side of the road, the kind with the solid 3-pronged iron spikes they keep extra sharp at the top because something evil is happening in the building behind it. It didn’t jump high enough. One of those three-pronged spikes caught her in the neck and carved it open straight down along the arc of its jump throat-ribs-guts until she was pinned straight through the left thigh. It still took her a minute to die even with the blood and guts out of her and there was not anything to do but watch. When I called it in on the non-emergency line the operator heard the shake in my voice and said listen kid they do this to themselves. There’s nothing for it. And I think about that a lot I really do. What did it mean

When I was fourteen, the Wednesday before the hurricane rolled into town, I chanced upon a dog loose in my neighborhood, small and skittish and afraid. It was a Maltese with white fur in soft curls; I always thought that if I ever got a dog I would get a Maltese. I followed it slowly, trying to get close so I could help it get back to its owner; I only wanted to help, see. But it was afraid and ran into the street and there was a car and then a yelping and when I looked back the back half of the dog was flat, the red of blood against the white of fur. It died slower than I wished; a jogger stopped to kneel near the dog, to keep it company in its last moments. Beside her there was a void of road, in the place where I should have stood. My first thought when it happened was, “Oh. This is going to be a story one day.” I never told anyone about that. I saw two of my classmates later that day; they waved at me and I waved back and said nothing. On the day the hurricane swept into town, a cardboard sign appeared: MISSING DOG. The next day, it was gone. If I didn’t care at all, it might even have lived.

I can’t speak for other social media webbed sites but I really enjoy how tumblr seems to just completely spin a wheel on whatever media is hot right now. Like yeah sometimes it’s a new show that’s big and actively coming out but also sometimes there will be a solid month where half my dash is Columbo memes. Defy authority. Get really into an book from the 1800s. Watch shows that haven’t aired in 40 years. Celebrate the anniversary of the Boston Molasses Flood. Become unmarketable

oh shit i almost missed it!
