The Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II, better known as the Warthog, is a Close Air Support (CAS) aircraft. It's designed to be able to come in, blow up stuff on the ground like tanks, then leave and repeat until it's out of ammunition.It served alongside the F-15 Eagle, F-16 Fighting Falcon, F-18 Hornet, F-117 Nighthawk, and the B-52 Stratofortress in Operation Desert Storm. The A-10 was designed around the Gau 8/A Avenger Rotary Cannon, a 30mm Gatling gun.
