still believe that one of the greatest bits of all time was on January 6th, 2021 when. well. you know. and twitter was understandably an echo chamber of panic and fear and Justin McElroy just tweeted a selfie with a filter that was like “have a delicious national spaghetti day” followed by 3 tweets that were like “fuck. i’m sorry. i don’t know how to delete scheduled posts” and as i type this two years later i’m laughing

today my dad and I were debating if chat gpt is or is not ethical. I'm an artist and naturally I oppose it, but talking to a conservative middle aged tech nerd made arguing it hard. he didn't care to listen to my statistics about the environment, but he conceded on it being unethical to use AI to create art. not a win, but something. the thing that ended the arguing was him continually poking fun at me after we had debated for being passionate about the subject, to which I said "if I told you chat gpt killed ten people per search, you would probably still use it." and I think in that moment we both realized what the gap between us is.
