One absolutely bizarre thing I’ve seen people with children say to childfree people is “If you wait until you’re ‘ready’, you will never have kids.” Like, yeah. I think that’s better than having kids and not being able to care for them, mentally, emotionally, physically, financially. How is never having children worse than having kids you can’t take care of? One affects you and only you and the other brings in an innocent party?

Since Thursday our politicians have been trying to rush the 'Kids Online Safety Act' (KOSA) and SCREEN acts alongside 15 other bills through committee in order to censor the internet while lying about it being for child safety. It was such laws that allowed the UK, Australia, and Europe to become the hellholes they are where youre arrested for mean posts.
Sadly, our same leaders are also trying to repeal Section 230 alongside these bills. What Section 230 does, in simple terms, is categorize stuff you make online as part of your freedom of speech.
If they aren't stopped they will strip that from you. Be wary.
Sorry for the non lancer post but if KOSA or the Screen ACT passes, if section 230 is repealed, it will be apocalyptic for tumblr and any site like it.

But who's buying the phones for them? Who's not teaching them how to be online safely, who's not teaching them healthy social media habits? Who's not making sure they aren't getting groomed or targeted by pedophiles?
If youre a parent who wants to ban social media for teenagers, maybe try being a parent first and ya know, actually help them learn how to use it safely instead of treating them like babies who can't make choices for themselves. You want them to be adults? Talk to them and treat them like one.
You can't expect these social media apps to hold their hand and protect them. They don't protect anyone lmfao it's YOUR job to keep safe. So teach your kids how to do that for themselves.
dont give ANY government power the ability to control *your* kids ability to be online. because theyre gonna start pushing for more control. They're gonna control the information everyone sees. They're gonna control things they have no business controlling.

a friend has just lost access to their account because of this, and the reason I didn’t fall for it is because I remembered seeing posts recently about it being a scam. so I too am spreading the word in the hope that maybe you will remember this post if you receive a similar dm.
Whilst I've not had this on Tumblr, a friend's discord got taken over through this hack, and I nearly fell for it myself when they tried to use my friend's account to get to me, so be wary on all accounts and even from accounts you may know!!
If you ever receive a message like this, it is a scam. It's either phishing and/or they'll try to get you to pay, or something like that.
