After enduring a lifetime of severe abuse I have finally escaped and was able to move half way across the country in an emergency situation. I am now currently safe in my girlfriend's parent's basement, but I still need funds to be able to get our own place. We are both applying to as many jobs as we can, but we need to have our own place soon! hey so. i think i just figured out where the AM inspiration shines through in caine.
he was in hell looking at heaven. he was in hell looking at heaven.
it isn't AM's hatred that caine is lifted from, but rather AM's longing to know the human experience. caine runs on love and passion. caine functions on good intent, not on malice.
i cannot stress enough. caine is not evil. he wants the humans to like him. THAT'S why he did the whole abel spiel; self-reassurance that they DO like him and they do want to stay. it backfired, obviously, but. with the way 'abel' tried to draw sympathy for caine. the way 'abel' kept going after kinger. caine did not set this up for them. he set this up to reassure himself. and it bit him in the ass
i need you guys to stop taking caine's AM inspo as 'oh he's evil/he hates them/he intentionally harms them', when that's not true at all! caine's AM inspo likely lifts from different aspects of AM, the most notable being the one i've shown above!
i get people are heated at caine right now, but please don't let that cloud your judgement of the character as a whole. caine is not AM. but i think we know where they overlap now.
