not an apologizer but a contextualizer. yes the character did that but please understand the Circumstance. yes they had other options but they had to make this choice in a sea of available bad choices. and also it made the narrative more interesting. won’t anybody think about the narrative!!!!!

the crazy thing about pillion is that ray is locked down SO tightly to this extremely rigid system by which he abides, by which he protects himself, that when he finally gives in and lets himself cross his own emotional boundaries, you cant help but feel deeply skeptical of it. it looks real, but surely it must be a trap or a test of some kind. and then… its not. its simply a day so honest it almost seems ooc and it fucks ray up so much that he moves away
