Thank you, Zeus, for your strength and light.

Shit man, this trojan war is fucked. I just saw a guy raise his hands to the sky and say “grey-eyed athena, strengthen my spear” or some similar shit, and he felled 27 men at once before being whisked away by divine mist. The narrator didn’t even mention him, that’s how common shit like this is. My ass is stuck with a bow and 2 arrows. I think I just heard “would to god my rage, my fury would drive me now to hack your flesh away and eat you raw” two groups over. I gotta get the fuck outta here.

everyone on replies is terrified of this fact but i just think it's so sweet and heartwarming. she's holding our hand and leading us somewhere secret and we're both giggling like kids. i love her

I wanted to share my Pure Land altar. I'm so proud of it and wanted to share.

Old W.I.P of Zeus Velchanos 🌧

Started drawing him after reading about The Hymn to Dictaean Zeus. The hymn invokes Zeus as the "greatest kouros," worshipped as a fertility god who welcomes the young initiates at the annual festival at his birthplace, Mount Dicte. In the hymn, Zeus, who "jumps" herds, fields, ships, cities, and young citizens,is called upon to return to Dicte and enjoy the singing that is taking place at his altar.

I mainly experimented with colors in this, and there's still a lot I need to learn before I can finish it. I am grateful to everyone who has given me good advice to move forward. But I had a lot of fun

I dunno, bawss. Maybe he escaped from da palm of da Buddha or somethin'.

The Buddha's palm was an allegory for the inconsequential nature of his martial achievements in comparison to true enlightenment, ya friggin' idiot! Now, listen: he's either here or he's achieved nirvana, and if he's here, you're damn well gonna take this gun and shoot him!

The joys of Dionysus had an extremely wide range, from the simple pleasures of the country bumpkin, dancing a jig on greased wineskins, to the ωμοφάγος χάρις of the ecstatic bacchanal. At both levels, and at all the levels between, he is Lusios, "the Liberator"—the god who by very simple means, or by other means not so simple, enables you for a short time to stop being yourself, and thereby sets you free.

What (if any) religious habits do you try and incorporate into your daily routine? 😊

:P hello hello! i stood on this ask for so long, a bit overwhelmed at the idea of listing ALL my religious habits— so i settled on just one that i’ve used to mix hellenic polytheism and buddhism!

i wear my mala beads almost every day and feel much more confident and connected to the divinity in the natural world around me. i remember to think of impermanence every time i feel the weight against my neck or chest. in quiet moments i chant mantras mentally on the beads.

i’ve given it my own helpol twist! the mantras and meditations i utilize my mala beads for often also include Theoi. i revere Apollon and Zeus as Dharmapalas, (Selene and Leto also, in aspects). i view all Theoi as some sort of deva, and have a couple of mala beads that i coordinate with different “energies” for different needs!

thank you for the ask, sorry for the delayed response!
