So I’m an archivist and a few days ago I got an email from a 15-year-old girl wanting to know if I’ve got any material on the only still-existing old mill in town (you’ve got to imagine this mill not like a quaint, stereotypical windmill the likes of which Don Quixote fought against but rather like a industrialisation-era factory).

I wrote back and asked if she needed this for a school project or for something else where there’s a deadline looming, for the simply reason that the more time I have, the more in-depth I can go with my research and the more material I’ll be able to get for her.

And she answered that no, it’s for her personal use because she’s interested in abandoned buildings in general.

And, like. What an absolutely excellent hobby for a teenage girl to have. I bet she’s the coolest person in her class and I hope that no one ever gives her a hard time about her interests.

i think it’s important to acknowledge that the reason why mastercard/visa has such a stranglehold on american society is because cash is not the main form of payment in the usa. the predominance of card has effectively privatized currency

in japan, one of the reasons why dlsite and other similar websites are able to just remove visa as a payment option instead of changing any of their merchandise (aside from the fact that visa doesn’t have a monopoly here) is because cash payments for online transactions remain an option. even if you don’t have a jcb credit card or paypay or whatever, you can still pay for your online purchases using cash by taking your barcode to a convenience store, and you can do this for essentially every online vendor, meaning credit card companies can’t just impose their moral judgments on your purchases with much repercussion

How does that barcode system work? I’ve never heard of something like that.

1. you add whatever porn games or movies or books you want to your cart and go to checkout

2. you select cash payment at conbini as your payment method

3. youre emailed a barcode that you take to the conbini

4. you show it to the cashier, they scan it, and you pay what you owe. note that the cashier does not see what youre buying

and the transaction is complete

Mexico too, there are multiple convenience stores you can pay at, sometimes you can also pay directly at the bank if it is offered even if you’re not a client of said bank.

I apologize to Christian tumblr, but I have an absurd theory.

Jesus is the son of Zeus.

Zeus has gotten women pregnant by simply existing around them, in some versions of myths at least. Mary, Mary was a virgin. Never did it with anyone, at least by the records.

Why else would Jesus be able to convince thousands that he was the son of god? Amass what would’ve been considered a cult back in his day?

Simple. Zeus was near Mary at one point. His mere presence, like the myths, got her pregnant, because fuck logic in Greek mythology I guess, and Jesus? HE INHERITED HIS FATHER’S GODLY CHARISMA. ROLLED A NAT20 FOR EVERY SKILL CHECK.

As a christian, I want to see a story based around this. Like all of the greek gods are just like “You know what this is the best entertainment I’ve had in millennia” and bless Jesus, and then after he dies Hades agrees and lets him back up, before then ascending and then like when no one is looking comes crashing back down to Earth, killing him on impact.
