I've got a few more fiction podcast starts from December to track, but it does seem like we're saying the end of a bow wave of podcasts that started in 2019. It'll be interesting to see where the plateau finally kicks in, or are we going to keep seeing fewer and fewer until we fall back to truly niche again?

Hey look I did another one… this one took a while between the necessity of a less humanoid design and the decision to dye all the fabric myself… pretty pleased with how this little weirdo came out though and his flouncy robe really fills out the shelf nicely.

Leftovers at the End of the World

Leftovers at the End of the World is a cosmic horror, slice-of-life audio drama podcast set in the post-apocalyptic, now coastal state of Arizona. The story follows Anak, a Filipino American courier as they go about their everyday life on their houseboat, The Bahay, while occasionally picking up passengers who share their life stories.

If you are like me, then you need some horrifying supernatural eldritch stories to spice up your Christmas cheer. And Leftovers at the end of the world will give you just that. In it you'll find all the best hits of a proper horror podcast: some cannibalism, cults, eldritch beings, strange supernatural monsters, horrible parenting, a charismatic radio host and love stories!

On a more serious note, the world building in this one is incredibly thrilling and intriguing. There is so much to learn yet, and so many pieces of a puzzle that we still don’t have a full context for.

The series is now on episode seven (+ a Christmas special) and releases episodes Bi-weekly on Wednesdays!

in 2026 DO NOT ask yourself whether your art is GOOD

instead ask:

  • is it SINCERE
  • was it CATHARTIC
  • was it FUN TO MAKE
  • is it MADE BY ME

and don't forget to stay silly

Hindsight - The Fracture

In the small town of Fairview, the annual Cull is a weapon. Every year, 10% of the least productive citizens disappear—a brutal ritual the powerful Mayor uses to maintain absolute control. This is the story of the hidden resistance, a son's betrayal, and the desperate fight to expose the truth: the Cull is not random, and it is far more sinister than anyone could imagine.

The Narrative framing of Hindsight immediately caught my attention. The controversial history of the post-apocalyptic town of Fairview is told to us through a podcast documentary, hosted by Caitlin and Noah, who both lived "The Fracture".

The pacing in this is just perfect. It manages to keep you on your toes from start to finish. Every detail matters, and they all come together to tell an extremely compelling and entertaining story.

The first season is ready for you to binge. It's six 40-minute-long episodes, so around four hours that will leave you impatient to know what comes next (trust me, I speak from personal experience). The creator is currently founding the production of season two, which is already fully written. (I'll put the link in the reblog!)
