I think u should start writing your original story btw. I want to read it.
addition: I understand wanting to wait until things feel Right to write. but as someone who also contends with adhd and The Situations there is not going to be a time where it magically feels perfect to write. “I’ll do it someday / later / when…” is an endless delay. you’ve gotta crack open a document and write something even if it sucks ass because if you don’t get your brain used to the habit it’s not gonna stick. the time you can start is Now.
This might be one of my new favorite illustrations! For The Institute for Bird Populations, I painted a pair of Sandhill Cranes investigating Ackerson Meadow in Yosemite National Park, where ongoing restoration of the meadow did actually draw in some of these birds during our 2025 banding season.
The meadow was once private property and had been channeled for grazing cattle, such that it was high, dry, grassy, and was no longer a functional wetland. Over the past few years we’ve been banding birds there to get a baseline pre-restoration, and now the park is working on returning the meadow to a more original wetland state. The changes have been quick and impressive, with so many wetland birds returning, like these cranes!
Haven’t seen anyone talking about it here, but vocal transfeminist and writer Tara Knight has been sent a threat from the fbi insisting that she stop speaking about “radical gender ideology” and get rid of the past 3 years of her work.
A black trans woman is getting personally threatened by the fbi for being a transfeminist. What the fuck. Hopefully this gets more reach than my usual posts so that people who are able to can support her.

circulate what you can please. it’s not trivial because it’s not outside your front door it will come for you. that’s not fear-mongering that’s the end goal of this administration and it’s in every move they make. i get that it’s scary and overwhelming. we are all scared and overwhelmed but that can’t be the end of it, that’s what they want and how they take the last of our power. at the very least provide visibility. make it difficult to ignore so the people who are condoning this have less they can justify, so more people might be able to help in ways you can’t. please
obviously not every cheesy chips is going to be like this, but why is it a majority of the time i see “cheesy chips” it looks like this and it’s from the UK. i’ve seen like 10 different variations of fries with kraft singles just slapped on top of it. at least melt the goddamn cheese
It was a lot of work to put my art gallery together and get it working, but because I didn’t see literally anything on creating such a gallery (other than ready-made templates) I decided to write up a tutorial hoping it will help others who want to code a more robust art gallery that goes beyond just using a simple slideshow/lightbox. Each image is its own post, like how deviantArt works.
