How would H1 Michael and RZ Michael draw their own self-portraits?
*H1 Michael’s drawing was made using @ michaelmyersleftfoot ’s guide‼️
I got inspired by the scene in the 2007 movie where he makes his own masks. I found his meticulous side so fascinating!
I’d heard people talk about Michael having an artistic side before, and I think that interpretation fits the 2007 version perfectly.
I love the contrast between his brutality and his meticulous, artistic side.
feeling obligated to put on a Halloween movie as I finally attempt to start a fic 🙏
it’s for an au I conjured up an I finally got myself an AO3 account lmao! It’s basing off the novel more with Michael hearing voices so that’s fun. Traumatize Laurie :]
(Basically Michael waits to kill everyone until 1978 and attempts to basically wipe out his bloodline - besides parents - in one night. Michael, Laurie and Judith grew up together too)
Hear me out!
When writing for Michael Myers everyone makes him super serious; When in fact he has been proven to be a silly goober!
Look at him!
Hope you like teeth, Bitch!
Come on, you can practically hear the robot noises!
DUDE, HE'S IN A ROCKING CHAIR!
In conclusion this man is not at all serious.
He literally kills because he thinks it's fun/funny! We need to take him less seriously. He would absolutely think it's funny to pull pranks, hell, He would absolutely love pulling pranks.
He pretended to be the guy he just killed twice! In two separate movies!
This man is silly as hell, You cannot prove me wrong!
New hc: Michael myers kills cuz he think it’s funny to watch ppl die lmao
unfinished realism practice with Michael! Started it on New Year’s Eve, worked on it on new years and then haven’t really touched it since haha
1978 Michael Myers is 100% my favorite Michael. He’s beautiful, of course, but not only is he the most attractive, he’s also just the most fascinating one. His kills aren’t totally random, like in the more modern ones where he seems to slaughter just for the sake of bloodshed. He’s hellbent on getting to Laurie, and anyone else who gets slashed is usually connected to her in some way, or simply an obstacle. Or he needs something from you. Sorry coveralls guy. It’s fascinating. It’s disturbing. His entire massacre is centered around one girl, and we don’t even find out about them being related until later movies. He also thrives on fear. He stalks her, lets her see him, and vanishes. He lays the bodies of her friends out where she will stumble across them. He is tormenting her, and we don’t even know why, much less Laurie herself. The unmasking scene in this movie has my entire heart and soul, and not just because Michael is absolutely breathtaking beneath that mask. His facial expressions are so readable and expressive… and utterly human. Unmasking the monster makes it clear that, no matter what Loomis claims, he is more than just a Boogeyman. He’s a man. Beneath that mask is a real, living human, one who is fueled by the terror of some seemingly random girl and willing to kill anyone in his path to get to her. Plus his urgent desperation to get it back on, his obsessive attachment to the mask and need to hide his face… the way he vanishes without a trace… original Michael is such a masterpiece, a true icon of slasher horror, and puts all the other iterations of him to shame. And all at only 21. Damn.
2 & 4-6 Michael, I don’t have so much to say about because it just feels like an extension of 1978. He’s basically the same guy. He feels very fleshed out and almost-but-not-quite-human though, which I love. There’s definitely humanity in him, which makes him more chilling. He’s a person under there, a person possessed and being puppeteered. Disturbing.
2007 Michael, I still adore despite the many flaws. (We don’t talk about 2009, I separate the first remake from its sequel because I actually enjoyed 2007, and while it wasn’t as good as the original, I didn’t expect it to be. Maybe this is because I went in with very low expectations, but I kinda enjoyed a different take, as well as the more depth given to his mother and to Judith.) 2007 Michael is violent and aggressive to the point of seeming almost excessive, and of course killing the one person who truly cared for him deeply damages the sympathy built up for him by the first part of the movie, but if you really over analyze like I did, his slaughter usually comes from a place of feeling “wronged” by the person—even if it’s a false perception, like killing Judith’s boyfriend who hadn’t done anything to him. His bully, his stepfather, his sister who torments him, her boyfriend who he considers at fault for his depressing and lonely Halloween, the nurse who insults him, the men who are harassing him (and notably echoing things his childhood bullies said) and ultimately the only person who was kind to him. While a normal person probably should’ve been able to see Ismael wasn’t exactly a threat to him, I can’t imagine Michael took kindly to being handcuffed and forced back into submission. The main thing about 2007 Michael is that his kills are over the top with their violence. He seems to enjoy inflicting pain on others, possibly more than previous interpretations. I’d assume this comes from the trauma of being bullied and abused by his stepfather and is amplified by his, uh, murderous nature.
I haven’t seen H20 or Resurrection so I won’t comment on them.
2018-2022 (Halloween 2018, Halloween Kills, and Halloween Ends) is my least favorite timeline so I don’t have a lot to say on it. I did really enjoy 2018, I thought Sartain was a really cool character especially with the heavy contrast he posed to Loomis, but since this is meant to talk specifically about Michael I’ll just say how much I loved Sartain’s death. The way Michael instantly turns on him the moment Judith is brought up, hesitating for just long to give him a momentary hope as he begs, “say something!” only to crush his skull into the ground without a care… oh, 2018 Michael, I love you. Unfortunately, Kills and Ends didn’t interest me as much. I think the idea of Michael just being “pure evil” with nothing else behind him is kind of… boring? It’s not as scary as possession, or a vicious and violent obsession with a long-lost sister, or unstable man who snapped. I prefer the story behind movies rather than just kills and jumpscares, so it doesn’t really appeal to me, but it has its own audience so I won’t hate on Kills too much. Halloween Ends, however, was—in my opinion—a colossal disappointment. (Corey just didn’t interest me, I’m here for Michael.) Plus, I feel these ones kind of lost the plot of him being fixated on Laurie, with excessive side-quest type kills that didn’t really benefit him other than raising the total body count. He looked cool doing it though, so I won’t complain. You go kill those random people for no reason, Michael, you earned it. Still working at your old age and all.
Anyway, all of this to say… 1978 Michael reigns supreme over all others. He’s perfect. That being said, I still love all versions of Michael… even ones where he’s a soulless, unfeeling vessel of evil incarnate ♡
